My copy of CHOSEN SURVIVORS /EARTH DIES SCREAMING had *two* copies of EARTH DIES SCREAMING... I went to exchange it for a good copy, and the only other shrinkwrapped copy they had also had two discs of EARTH DIES SCREAMING!
Anyone else experience this? It was quite weird. I just wanna watch CHOSEN SURVIVORS, dammit! |
Just opened mine after you posted Zyzzle and mine has two copys of Earth Dies Screaming also. How do we get ahold of Fox to get a replacement disc?
|
I wonder if by chance the disc art doesn't match the disc contents? Did either of you try playing the discs?

I've had six of the new Midnites so far, and they have all been present and correct.
If you get a box with two copies of one film and the other is missing, then you should go to the store that supplied them, this isn;t really an issue that you would go direct to the studio to fix, not in the first instance, at least. It must be fairly isolated, because places like the Classic Horror Forum would be drowning in complaints if every box had two Earth Dies Screaming discs...and this is the first time I heard of anyone having this problem. If you got them by mail order, ask the sender to check first; if they won't, see if you can get a refund and go to a bricks and mortar stores where you can open the thing up at the checkout and look first! |

The Conqueror Worm has always had everything while Witchfinder General was the british censored version. |
according to Glenn Erickson, MGM, pre-SONY went to great lengths to restore WG to its complete original state.
Then it sat on the shelf for 2-3 years. Until now. So I doubt theres anything missing. THE UK WF DVD I have also has the branching "export cut" if you so desire (which I presume is the original cut- the added sections are a bit softer.) |
OK. After I finished watching the new DVD of Witchfinder General this fine evening, I popped in my old laserdisc of Conqueror Worm. It appears that the gore is about the same in the two versions. The four or so incidental breast shots are not in the DVD version but are in the laserdisc. The other notable difference is Conqueror Worm has an intro and exit monologue by Vincent Price similiar to what was done in the popular Poe movies. I assume that it is Poe's poem, Conqueror Worm, that he is reciting. The end credits on the laserdisc start with a "music by" credit that is absent on the DVD.
