Multiplicity - Special Edition Ever?
It's not one of my favorites, or anything, but it has its moments. The behind the scenes material is what I'd like to see. A "making of" feature, showcasing the process Michael Keaton had to go through would be pretty cool. [I believe there was an HBO behind the scenes special around the time of the theatrical release, if I remember correctly.]
Plus, the pan and scan is so distracting. So it would be nice to have a widescreen version. Not sure if the demand is high enough to release a SE, though. I'd settle for the WS. Anyone ever hear anything about another release of this movie? |
The original release was Widescreen on one side and fullscreen on the other, it's one of the titles Sony rereleased as fullscreen only. I'm with you on wanting an SE too. It's almost like an insult that it's barebones considering the special effects and Michael Keaton's performance(s). I remember the HBO BTS as well , what would be really cool is if Michael Keaton did a commentary with all three of his clones... yeah right!

The "She Touched My Pepe" Edition.
I loved this movie. That commentary idea would rock. |
Yeah, I wouldn't mind a special edition either. Decent time filler and Keaton was good.

I know pan and scan is never really preferable, but with this movie it's very noticeable. And that is a pretty cool idea for the commentary. Don't know how easily Keaton could get back into character so many years later, though. |

Every time I see this in a store I double check for the flipper cause this is a good movie, and it deserves better. I expect about the time Sony makes an SE of The Cable Guy (i.e. never) we'll get an SE of Multiplicity, too.
|
Yeah, I'd check out a SE of this flick. I always liked it and don't own any incarnation of the film. I've only seen the pan and scan version of the flick, and I do recall it being really bad having to constantly move the image to the person speaking and back and forth again. Kinda like the horrible pan and scan job for A Few Good Men.

Love this movie. Steve, Lance, Rico, Lenny. Funny stuff. I'd want an SE too.

|
No, it was released in theaters. I vaguely remember seeing trailers for it...

I think a bunch of Sony/Columbia VHS releases around that time, 96-00, were full of terrible pan and scan formats.
|
This is a movie I think would of got better treatment if Micheal Keaton wasn't so underrated.
|
I saw this in the theater, a very memorable date as a matter of fact.
I would love an SE. "We shave him at night when he's asleep." |
"Pizza, I like Pizza. Steve, I like Pizza" edition. Great movie. Keaton is great as usual. One of my favorite Keaton performances is in The Dream Team.
|
I saw it in the theater as well. One of the few.

Actually you could get really simple and just call it the Special Special Special Special Edition.

Why would they give Hudson Hawk its 3rd release with the third being SE and not Multiplicity
