Planet Earth is the only thing I'm getting this week.

But I'm torn as to which version. On the one hand, the HD will obviously have the better image, but it's more expensive and has none of the extras of the SD version. I really can't decide. If these companies wanted HD to take off, they'd offer extras, and price breaks on the HD versions (like the used to when dvd first came out) - and this is why these new formats will never succeed.

Already picked up Night at the Museum (2 disc) and The Odd Couple.
Planet Earth is on it's way.

Just bought Deja Vu (blu-ray) and am thinking about Planet Earth. Eventually I'll get Eternal Sunshine HD DVD as well.

Local retail has got worse and worse over the last 4 years. It's a joke here in Dead Moines.

I can't believe I had to order Jane Eyre on-line and now I have to wait. God, I love Orson and Joan.

A truly great week for me (and I imagine any fan of classic films):-

- Anna Karenina (1948 Vivien Leigh version with a silent adaption as well.)

- Jane Eyre (Joan Fontaine, Orson Welles, two commentary tracks, a making-of, isolated score and more.)

- Les Miserables (the grand 1935 version with Frederic March and Charles Laughton, together with the watchable but less grand 1952 effort.)

- Forgotten Noir Collector's Set 2 (Man From Cairo / Mask Of The Dragon / Fbi Girl / Tough Assignment / I'll Get You / Fingerprints Don't Lie - another classic collection from VCI with great extras)

- James Cagney Signature Collection
