at the moment yes. although, it is hopeful that they could work a deal out. Also MgM isn't a shell and logo...from what I remember reading the people in charge were able to swing the home distribution deal over to fox after sony showed little to no interest in releaseing the catalog.

not sure what kind of rights issues were worked out for bond or balboa. Sony could have those films for all time, or the life of dvd, or just for the first outing. I have yet to read anything that defines what films sony maintained, and for how long. I was under the impression that the Broccoli's owned the rights to the James Bond films out right, but had a contract with mgm for distribution both theatrically and on home video.

i am curious to see if the Steelbook re-issue of Fight Club will be the single disc or 2-disc version. If it is the 2-disc I will definitely pick this up

To be honest, since Sony is making the sequels (even if it is a partnership with MGM), I kind of think Bond is the only reason Sony bought MGM at all, which explains their pretty immediate decision to dump the catalog on Fox.

was looking around on Amazon.com today and saw the Steelbook Covers for X2 and Fight Club. Going by the Item Details they will be the 2-Disc versions (at least for these 2...didn't check the others).
