What do you do with your OOP dvds?

Do you put them in your collection with the others? Or are they in some kind of safe keeping? :)

Brian Shannon 03-15-07 07:02 AM

All my dvd's sit on shelves in alphabetical order. I have no idea if any are out of print

EdTheRipper 03-15-07 07:02 AM

All of my dvds are stored together.

TomOpus 03-15-07 07:03 AM

They all go on the shelves with the others.

starman9000 03-15-07 07:31 AM

Wouldn't consider doing anything different with them, unless, I suppose, they were selling for a ridiculous price, in which case I might dump them.

I agree with this. The way that rereleases seem to be a dime-a-dozen, if one of my OOP DVD's was fetching an insane price, I would dump it. Otherwise, all my DVD's are together.

They sit in my shelves with the others.

Until the announce a release date for a newer version. Then I check to make sure the newer version is a better version.

Then I check eBay. Then I usually sell it.

ie. Scarface

I had a copy of the original release. They announced an SE with a better transfer and more extras.

I put it on eBay and got $60 for it. Then I bought the new version for $16.

riotinmyskull 03-15-07 08:48 AM

i eat mine.

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 03-15-07 08:49 AM

I throw them away, OOP DVDs are useless

danegger 03-15-07 09:14 AM

Target practice, they come in real handy.

Lecithin 03-15-07 10:39 AM

I keep them in a safe place along with my out of print newspapers and magazines.

FILMCZY 03-15-07 10:51 AM

Used as coasters while playing poker with my five-year-old. My wife would kill me if I left a ring-stain on her cherry-wood colored vinyl tablecloth. For some reason, "Salo" seems to be my "lucky" one...I kick my kid's ass whenever I use it...

Alan Smithee 03-15-07 04:21 PM

I take mine to bed with me.

lordzeppelin 03-15-07 05:20 PM

Personally, I like to lay them all out on the floor...then I strip, and roll around on them, rubbing them sensually all over my body, especially the Criterion Good Burger.

caiman 03-15-07 05:24 PM

I put them in a special "OOP DVD" enclosed glass and metal case. It's about 6 feet by 2 feet, and is secured on all corners with wrought iron rods and fastened with metal bolts. The seams are welded shut to ensure an air tight environment.

I can't watch them anymore, but it sure keeps the cat out of them.

The Valeyard 03-15-07 05:28 PM

I take them all outside on the balcony and scream to anyone who walks by "You don't have these!!".

Then I laugh manically.

tonymontana313 03-15-07 05:29 PM

I keep them in a safe with security detail 24 hours a day.

Jason 03-15-07 05:32 PM

I throw the covers away and write on the label with a sharpie.

spinning plates 03-15-07 05:40 PM

toss the cases and put the dvds on a spindle. saves a lot of space.

OldBoy 03-15-07 05:43 PM

i put them on a string and then around my rear view mirror in the car. that look is so sweet nowadays and the OOP's are the shiniest when the sun hits it just right.

calhoun07 03-15-07 06:05 PM

I hug them and kiss them and tell them I love them every day.

Good to know I'm not the only one.

ernestrp 03-15-07 07:16 PM

FantasticVSDoom 03-16-07 07:47 AM

I feel like Im in a bad episode of the Family Guy all of the sudden...

darkside 03-16-07 09:06 AM

I sell the ones I don't want and put the rest right out on the shelves. They are much more valuable to me as part of my collection.
