Weather + DVDs
I will be leaving a bunch of DVDs in my car overnight and just wanted to know if very cold weather can have a negative effect on DVDs. I know that hot weather would be bad for DVDs, but don't know about the cold. Anyone care to share experiences?

The best thing is to just make sure they come back to room temp before putting them into a player.
|
why not just bring them inside? Why do you need to keep them in your car overnight?
|
From my experience, you'll have no problems.
As nemein said, just acclimate them before use. |
I usually bathe with my DVD's so they are all squeaky clean. They seem fine after that, so I don't think a little weather in a car should harm them.

I do this as well.

i live in fucking winnipeg and from the store to the home the dvds are cold, i just wait a little while to let them warm up a little. i know someone that left there dvd in a freezer by accident, overnight and it worked fine the next day when he took it out.
heat is way worse for dvds then cold. i would not suggest leaving it in direct sunlight in your car. |
