Known Problems with James Bond Ultimate Edition??
 

Watched the "Dr. No" Movie the other night (Ultimate Edition - Volume 4) and after I selected the DTS 5.1 option and went a little ways into the movie it became very irritating because one minute the volume level was driving us out of the room and then in the next scene we couldn't even hear the dialogue. Finally went to the Stereo option for sound (I think it was Stereo - maybe it was something else - but not the DTS option) and everything was okay after that. Very disappointing - especially after the introduction which said that the picture and sound had been remastered - frame by frame! HA!!!

I don't think the "frame by frame" applies to sound -- trying to restore an optically-printed soundtrack would be a clumsy and frankly backwards process.

Maybe a dumb question, but do you have a center channel speaker? If you don't, or don't have its volume set correctly, dialogue may get lost during quiet scenes, especially with a dts soundtrack. If you've just got the volume set too low because the loud portions seem too loud to you, you may want to try Dynamic Range Compression, which may be available on your DVD player and/or your receiver or dts decoder.
