PAL speed-up can be corrected when playing a disc on a PC, using ReClock (a free app) with a compatible media player (Theatertek is one). ReClock will not fix the frame rate and correct for the higher pitch caused by the speed-up. However, it's limited to analog output, and I think it's just 2 channels.

I know that's not what you're looking for, but I figured I'd throw that out there.
