As reported on TVShowsonDVD.com, the President of HBO Home Video said to "Reserve lots of money for Christmas, 2008." It was inferred that he was speaking of the Sopranos complete box set.

I wonder if they'll put out a Sopranos Complete Series box in HD and/or individual seasons. I haven't bought any on DVD yet because I've watched the show for so long on HBO HD, and at this point I don't see myself re-evaluating that decision next Christmas unless there's a HD box.
It will be a while before there's a Deadwood box because the first of the 2 final films isn't even scheduled yet.

(They sort of did the same with Carnivale.)

Oz & The Wire would really piss me off. The Sopranos was to be expected, which is why I held off. I don't think Curb or Deadwood are going to have that.
As for Six Feet Under, it was just a nice package, no content changes.

FYI for the region free, Mediadis have a Deadwood boxset of all 3 seasons coming out 01/11/07 for 60 euros, which is roughly $85 USD. Heck of a lot cheaper than buying the R1 seasons separately at $65+ each.

I would be tickled for a complete "Tales from the Crypt" set, and of course......
"Dream On". (not holding my breath

If the price estimate seems high, consider that the 2 parts of Season 6 currently available on HD formats have a combined MSRP of $260. However, it's "only" $169 at Amazon.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a release of The Complete Curb Your Enthusiasm Box Set just yet, simply because I don't think the show is over. I thought this season was going to be the last at first, so I held off from buying the individual seasons. After doing a little research I found where both Larry David and Richard Lewis had been quoted as saying the show would go on for a few more seasons, so when Seasons 1-5 went on sale at CircuitCity for like $17.99 I bought 'em all. Larry David said something along the lines of wanting to have this show run longer than Seinfeld (9 Seasons), so if that holds true we can look forward to at least four more years of Curb Your Enthusiasm. When they eventually release a Complete Series, I will just double-dip, and have sets for watching and the full set for display.

Okay, kids. I just enjoyed an interview with David Chase about an hour ago. He was interviewed at the Writers Guild Foundation by The Simpsons creator, Matt Groening. Anyway, he said there was going to be a new complete DVD box set of the Sopranos released for Christmas.
For whatever reason, Alec Baldwin interviewed David Chase for a new feature for the set. Chase said there will be a lot of new interviews with the cast and crew. No mention of Blu-Ray specifically. That's all I know.

I saw these posted elsewhere, but I'm not entirely sure what set these pics are from -- it's a different design than the one shown on Mediadis or the R2 version on Amazon UK:

The safe box set looks really cool - I've got the other one, and it's a pretty cool set. Strange packaging though. Oh, and the digistacks containing the seasons are the same as in the safe box set.
