Yay!!! It looks like it also retains all the features from the already loaded regular DVD. Definitely grabbing this !!!
Looks like a great release. Haven't seen the movie in a while and I'm interested in the commentary with Williams and the rest of the features look great.
Wow this is great news! I've been waiting for a new release for years and finally they decide to release it with a lot of great extras.
A true comedy classic well deserving of an upgrade for sure!
I'm waiting for the revised artwork to look something closer to this:

love the LA Times quote |
rotfl Almost missed the VHS in the corner, nice job Fincher.
hahhahaha funny!!
though personally I would've liked a nasty hairy-chested Brosnan from the pool scene...for added effect ;) |
The new SE name for this sucks and the artwork sucks......ill pick it up when it hits $5...

Cover is shit.

The could give this movie to me in a paper sleeve with nothing else on it with the movie and I'd buy it. Absolutely love it.

exactly^ it's what's on the inside that counts...don't judge a dvd by its cover....what other cliches could I say??? i can't wait to get this

Everytime FOX comes up with a shitty name ( or a stupid sitcom for that matter) it makes baby Jesus cries.
:( Long for the "old days" of simple names like Special Edition, Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, etc. Definitely don't care for what they've chosen here. Tired trend that's worn out its welcome.
That said, I'm coming out in full support of the cover art. Composition and color scheme are great. Very well done. Not sure if I'm going to buy it. Enjoy the movie, but it's not a favorite or anything. Though a commentary by Robin Williams would be sweet. --THX |

I'd actually buy the "Good Morning Vietnam" edition.
Doesn't look like the Behind-the-Seams Edition is going to include the commentary by Chris Columbus or any new one by Robin Williams. IGN has posted details, and is the third DVD site I've seen to make no mention of any commentaries. Unless DVDActive, DavisDVD, and IGN are wrong, or have incomplete information, this release, while still very good, will not be quite definitive.
--THX |
Hopefully all the extras from the Laserdisc box set will be ported over. It's REALLY annoying to have to change discs like 3 times for this movie in CAV.
"Behind the Seams" is probably the worst one so far. They should've called it the "Drive-by fruiting" or some other stupid name.
Drive-by fruiting
I think it's all Paramount's fault. They had the "Don't Call Me Shirley" "Whatever!" "Holy Schnike" editions and ever since then all the other companies are releasing movies with all these crappy names.
