The Queen --> April 24th!
A few details along with the street date have emerged:
-English Dolby Digital 5.1 -Spanish Language Track and Spanish Subtitles -Feature Commentary with Director Stephen Frears and Writer Peter Morgan -Feature Commentary with British Historian and Royal Expert Robert Lacey, Author of "Majesty" More details when it announces first week in March~ Easily one if this year's best films! |
I didn't think so personally.
It was well-done and Helen Mirren was astonishing, no question about that (though my personal pick for Best Actress this year was Kirsten Dunst), but it felt a lot like Capote (excellent performance and directing, but lacking). I would have loved to see a commentary with both Helen Mirren and the real Queen Elizabeth. |
Considering how much newsreel footage was shot during that period, there should be some substantive extras in addition to the commentaries.
This was definitely high on my 2006 "top ten" list! |
i'll pick it up!
|
good news, I expect it will do well in dvd sales, wonder what other extras will be on there?
|
what company is releasing this?
|
Miramax handled the theatrical distribution.

For an Anglophile like me who actually knew who Rik Mayall was long before Drop Dead Fred, it was pretty pathetic. Of course this is coming from the woman who was shocked to find out that "the guy who plays House" is really British. Had to pull out an episode of "Jeeves & Wooster" -- that really freaked her out. ;) |
I wonder if they've already started printing the cover art with the Best Actress win on it. :)
