Saw III DVD

Future Shop (which does not ship to the US) is offering an exclusive two-disc edition which is seen here:

http://www.futureshop.ca/multimedia/...dvd2127169.jpg

Target is also offering a two-disc exclusive edition which features almost the same cover as shown above except for the fact that Target's cover does not have the arms in the chains and just shows the chains hanging. Future Shop's website does not say what is on their bonus disc but I'm assuming it's the same content. I don't know if Target just censored the cover art for their ad and will have the same cover as Future Shop or if Target just has a different cover. Does anyone know if Target and Future Shop are owned by the same company? I really like Future Shop's cover but as stated above, they apparently do not ship to the US. I'm hoping Target also offers this cover in store.

I believe that Best Buy owns Future Shop.

Target just owns the dog.

Here is Target's Exclusive Deluxe edition cover art:

Could it be thats the Target slipcover and underneath is the other? Find out soon enough I guess... cant wait to see it again in its unrated form.

ShaunoftheDead 01-22-07 01:06 PM

Will this be it for this release or will there be another like the 1st 2? I would hate to get this and know another is likely.
Does this one have a DTS track?

Rammsteinfan 01-22-07 02:26 PM

No DTS on this release at least for R1.

Rammsteinfan 01-23-07 11:04 AM

Well the Target release is as you see in the picture above w/ just the shackles and its the same under the slipcover. Meh.

Already being discussed in that thread.

ShaunoftheDead 01-23-07 02:37 PM

Does anyone know how much/time is added over the theatrical cut?

Cavanagh 01-23-07 02:43 PM

The back of the DVD packaging says it's in 1.78:1, but IMDB has it listed as being released in a 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Does anyone know if the packaging was just a misprint, or if the IMDB info is incorrect?

Filmmaker 01-23-07 03:05 PM

IMDB is incorrect; Lionsgate 1.85:1 movies are always brought to DVD as 1.78:1; it's one of those "close enough for government work" kind of things...

OldBoy 01-23-07 04:52 PM

is it just secs. that were added bc theatrical and UR DVD runtime seem identical? a dd is def in the making...

DJariya 01-23-07 08:21 PM

Who thinks Lions Gate is going to release another edition of Saw III come October when Saw IV is released?

Rammsteinfan 01-23-07 09:16 PM

In the commentary the director said some day he would like to do the full 3 hour cut which i doubt would happen but he did say there were more deleted scenes. Lots of jokes about the 9, 16, and 29 or so disc versions of SAW in the future from Leigh and Darren.

Well, I am not sure Saw IV is going to happen this year. I check the IMDB website often and there is no mention at all of Saw IV. Usually they will at least mention pre-production on upcoming movies, Saw IV is not even there yet nor any stars signed up for it. IMO this movie will not happen in 2007...

mdc3000 01-24-07 08:14 AM

I wouldn't be so sure...they usually shoot the Saw flicks over the summer and get them in theatres for October, so if we haven't heard anything by May, I'll agree with you...but I've heard news is coming sooner rather than later.

ShaunoftheDead 01-24-07 08:47 AM

What a gip that Target bonus DVD is only 11 minutes total for 2 scrawny featurettes. I would have liked more.

Rammsteinfan 01-24-07 10:10 AM

LGF already said SAW IV would be released on OCT 26th unless something drastic happens and they dont start filming by May. I am excited for another film as long as they stick w/ the current ideas and dont start up something new like a jigsaw wanna be.

Ok, I know the wax over the tape will have something to do with the next movie, but how the hell can either Jigsaw or Amanda come back for the next one? I just can't figure out how they can continue....

That is reserved for the 2008 release of SAW V: A New Beginning :D

Rammsteinfan 01-24-07 01:07 PM

Spoiler:

I mean he did say that he could have dr's there within minutes... maybe he can survive still. Hell, Danny Glover's character lived w/ his throat cut by jigsaw.

Anything is possible but will it be good?

A double dip.

Rammsteinfan 01-24-07 01:33 PM

Just listening to the 3rd commentary right now... Darren said there were 3 versions of the Rack. Theatrical, unrated, and directors cut for the future... Oh how predictable LGF marketing is ;)

That's what is keeping me from picking up this set. I'll give it while and see if something gets announced first.

Sabrett 01-24-07 05:55 PM

I'm actually surprised they haven't made a box set of these yet...

TomOpus 01-24-07 06:00 PM

Shhhhhh... don't give LG any ideas :)

I'm willing to bet that once the series ends, there will be some sort of boxset. HOPEFULLY -pray- it won't be loaded with more extras to spur a double dip.
