Vertical wall-mounted DVD shelves?
Does anyone know of any vertical wall-mounted DVD shelves? I've got some horizontal ones (Ikea's Benno) in my media room, but I'm looking for a few wall-mounted ones that I can hang to the left and right of my projector screen. It needs to be pretty narrow (like around 10-12")

http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/store...roductId=47430 I just installed 3 of them on the wall and look great. Not quite as narrow as you want but still pretty narrow compared to others. Check this thread out for more info on hanging these on the wall: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=488285 Hope that helps. Tom |
I love the FLÄRKE shelf units. We use two for our DVDs and will probably get a third. They are sturdy and look nice. Mounting sounds like quite the task. Do you have pics of what your system looks like so we can understand why you would need to mount shelves instead of have two bookshelves?

Now that I have the shelves up and filled, I've already run out of room with no more wall space for another unit! Here you go: http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/2...2680rc0.th.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/4...2679gl8.th.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/2...2678hy2.th.jpg http://img392.imageshack.us/img392/1...2681jn8.th.jpg |
Now all you need is a trampoline to reach the movies on the top shelf. ;)

I was wondering if just getting bookcases (albeit narrow ones) and using L brackets and the like might work; judging from the responses here I guess that it would. I may go that route, as I'd have more options that way.
But I'm limited width-wise, as the screen is about 80 inches wide (92" diaganol) and the wall is 108" wide total. |

I was wondering why you would put them all the way to the ceiling and essentially lose the top "shelf" of each unit, but then I saw your last pic with the printer/desk below it so I suppose you gain floor space.
Living Dead brings up an interesting point - how do you get those top-shelf DVDs down? |

I have one of these from Ikea called the BOALT, it looks nice when filled with all Amaray DVD cases.
