I've completed Scrubs and started on Season 1 of The X-Files last night. I'm thinking that's going to take up quite a bit of time.

My sig line is possibly literally true, but I am trying to make progress.

In addition to watching all of Star Trek this year, I am going to try to watch the movies that I buy this year.

That will still leave about 150 TV sets and 300 movies all unwatched.

Next year I'll try to watch Buffy and X-Files, 2009 I'll do Homicide and Dick Van Dyke, but in all likelhood, there is no possible way that I'll ever "catch up".

Feb. has started off slow for me with all the current shows returning from the Christmas break. I've only gotten halfway through Newsradio: S3 so far. I need to step it up.

I'm still working my way through the Oliver Stone collection. Now on The Doors. With Survivor and Amazing Race starting again will make it more difficult.

Add to the pile:
Election
Pyscho (1998)
Confidence
The Departed

Anyone interested in this thread idea?

Each month I'll start a new thread where you'll make a post containing four sections.

Section one will be how many movies you have to watch at the beginning of the month. This won't get updated.

Section two will be your list of movies as you watch them. Update as you watch.

Section three will be for the bad, bad man who forces you to buy new movies even though you can't finish what you have. You could either to a count and change it as you get it, or impress us all with a list instead so we can see that you bought the new Power Rangers movie.

Section four will be your net gain/loss. It'll be zero at first but let's say you watch 3 movies, it just became -3. The next day there's a 20% off sale at DDD, add 40 more so now it's +37.

You don't keep making new posts, you just edit the one you make.

The next month, I can carry over everyone's to do count from the previous month, adjust it with your net change and show off(or possibly disgrace you if you buy more than you watch, we are trying to get you through this pile dude), with your new total.

If there's any interest, I'll start it up on the first.

You have all inspired me. I am working on it, but have not got a list going. All my pile is sectioned off so as it disappears I know I am accomplishing something. The problem is a lot of it is blind buys, drama and very long movies such as war movies. Some of them have been tough going (not a big fan of some of my BB) and some have been hidden gems, but I just think it is time to watch them and then make a choice keep or trade. I am trying to get at least 10 features a week done. At a little over 160 titles I hope to be wrapping up in the summer. Then I can concentrate on the TV on DVD.

I've been adding 12 a week to my collection and only watching 3 or 4 so I'm falling behind big time. The one thing I've got going for me is that with my son working at the theater, we're seeing most of the releases theatircally so eventually I will have already seen most of the movies being released.

Indeed.
DVD's are something you watch to enjoy not look at it in the way of, son of a bitch look at all the DVD's i have to get through, i would look at it as a good thing not a bad thing.
I don't sit there waiting for the movie/TV set to be over so i can cross it off a list.

Don't rush, take your time and enjoy the movies.

I don't sit there waiting for the movie/TV set to be over so i can cross it off a list.

Don't rush, take your time and enjoy the movies.
I will admit some of them have become a chore - especially some that I have bought on recommendation or reviews. But the number I completely enjoy is much greater. I will take some of the bad for all the great ones I find. I admit once I get caught up my collection will be much more fun and enjoyable.
