Major League (Wild Thing Edition) - Due 4/10/07

Paramount Home Entertainment will release Major League: Wild Thing Edition on April 10th, 2007. Can an ex-con pitcher nicknamed "Wild Thing," a pampered all-star infielder and a weary itinerant catcher lead the Cleveland Indians to the pennant against the wishes of the team's new owner? Charlie Sheen, Corbin Bernsen, Tom Berenger, Wesley Snipes and Bob Uecker star in the baseball favorite.

The DVD arrives with a 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 & 2.0 tracks. Bonus materials are TBA. Retail is $14.99.

Can't wait to see what the bonus stuff will be. I love this movie.

Patrick Mirza 12-31-06 09:49 PM

A lot of people do... it's a cult hit by now!

EdTheRipper 12-31-06 09:58 PM

Great movie...if the bonus features are right, I might double dip.

strife 12-31-06 10:54 PM

can they get Snipes from jail for this?

Mr.Briggs 01-01-07 12:23 AM

I am such a damn sucker for double dipping. I'll be getting this one for sure.

Yeti4623 01-01-07 12:24 AM

I knew I made the right decision, by holding out the other day.

Cameron 01-01-07 01:08 AM

great news

GreenVulture 01-01-07 02:57 AM

Aww, I was hoping they'd call it the "Jesus Christ Couldn't Hit a Curveball" Edition.

wm lopez 01-01-07 05:39 AM

I never understood why people love this movie when this type of movie has been done better before. SLAP SHOT, BAD NEWS BEARS, LONGEST YARD don't get as much pub as MAJOR LEAGUE.

LorenzoL 01-01-07 07:54 AM

Excellent news.

movieking 01-01-07 08:29 AM

JOE29 01-01-07 08:39 AM

lisadoris 01-01-07 08:51 AM

fryinpan1 01-01-07 09:02 AM

Probably because they aren't as funny. Slap Shot and TLY are not true comedies, they are dramas with comedic elements. If grown ups instead of kids were saying the lines in BNB, it wouldn't be funny at all. ML has excellent one liners, physical comedy and sight gags. It's by far the funniest of the four you mentioned, and probably the funniest sports movie of all time.

I hope there's some special features attached to this one. I'd love to see the funniest line from the trailer "Yellowstone", get put back in.

They're premiering this on HDnet today, so hopefully they'll get this out on HD-DVD and Blu-Ray the same day. I'd buy in a second.

"Hats for bats.... gracias!"

Bluelitespecial 01-01-07 10:53 AM

Great movie. I'll pick this up, didn't buy the previous release.

Bluelitespecial 01-01-07 12:28 PM

April 10th wil be just in time for the start of the baseball season, great timing.

SINGLE104 01-01-07 02:04 PM

Major League is currently showing on HDNet Movies this month.

lordzeppelin 01-01-07 02:29 PM

The deleted scenes had BETTER be on this release. I remember seeing some on HBO probably a decade ago. Probably the most popular is the one joke that was in all the trailers for the movie, "That ball wouldn't have been out of a lot of parks" "name one" "yellowstone" from the restaurant scene, was cut and hasn't been seen since, despite making it into the second movie. There's a ton of shit out there for this movie...
