No offense to Mao, but Night of the Comet is on my list of "I'll believe it's coming out when I have it in my hands" titles. Of course Ed Wood was on that list also, and it finally came out.

Believe it guys....

I did a little research since Mao broke this info...Here is the link for the presale....It is not bogus as I am going to also buy a copy of Looker and the dates and all the other info match the release date for that... http://turnerclassic.moviesunlimited...asp?sku=D64241 ....Now where the HELL is Night Of The Creeps???

I thought for sure I'd click the title and inside would be;

"does anyone know when these are coming out?"

Ha ha ha.. Great news! Yay Comet!!

If you don't mind me plugging HDNet Movies one more time, Night of the Creeps is airing in high-def throughout January. Yeah, I know it's not as readily accessible as a DVD, but if you have the channel already, it's free, and you get a boost in resolution to boot.

Excellent news, thanks!

I am so all over Night Of The Comet! Saddens me I watched the really crappy quality tape from Showtime just a couple years ago, so I remember most of the plot.

Mountain Biker 12-29-06 12:16 AM

Great news

Joe Molotov 12-29-06 01:34 AM

I don't care about Solarbabies, but I'll take some Night of the Comet.

BuddyRevell 12-29-06 04:59 PM

About freaking time. Thanks for the good news!

critterdvd 12-29-06 08:47 PM

woot! I've been waiting for these for years! Now all I need is 'Howard the Duck' and my collection of chessy 80s movies is complete!

OldBoy 12-29-06 10:57 PM

someone explain this clamour over "Night of the Comet" ...

i have of course seen this many moons ago somewhere on cable and remember it as pretty schlocky fun, but as i recall it was not a good movie by any means.

so why is this such a desired title?

Cause it's a fucking awesome movie, that's why.

Come on. Valley girls, demented scientists, and zombies. You can't get any better than that.

Man, I haven't seen Night of the Comet in 12 or 15 years!

I want to buy the DVD when it comes out (assuming something doesn't scuttle the release at the last minute), but I wonder if I'll like it nearly as much as I did back then. I mean, I remember it as good schlocky fun, but it wasn't a great movie - it was just great fun to watch.

I wonder how well it has aged....

I guess I'll find out! :D

I know what you mean, but if your a fan of the 80's this movie holds up very well. I probabably like it more now then I did back in the day. Besides what other movie are you gonna see some hot chick playing Tempest?

I've never seen Night of the Comet. Does it lean more toward comedy or more sci-fi?

Xytraguptorh 01-01-07 06:02 PM

I used to have Night of the Comet on tape years ago. I'll definitely buy the DVD.

Solarbabies sounds good, I can't believe I've never seen it. Is it on the level of Charles Band movies like Metalstorm or is it higher budget?

nin74 01-02-07 01:03 AM

Yes, finally getting Night of the comet on DVD!!

It's hard to classify. It's kind of horror, kind of comedy, kind of sci-fi. Mostly I would say it's a great snapshot of the 80's, but leans to sci-fi much more than comedy. It probably has the greatest 'made for the movie' 80's soundtrack ever.

It's kinda Comedy/Zombie Apocalypse.

MechanicalMan 01-02-07 06:45 PM

I'm glad Night of the Comet is finally being released, but I watched it a couple years ago and didn't understand what all the fuss is about. Night of the Creeps is a classic.

Chad 01-02-07 09:15 PM

Excellent news regarding Night of the Comet!

The other one I don't ever recall seeing.

Excellent news. I hope Fox respect that artwork a bit.

mxv 01-03-07 10:20 AM

I saw this in the theatre when it came out and I'm not sure if I ever saw it since, maybe once on cable. I'll pick this up regardless just for the sake of nostalgia.
