Will Speilberg's 'Taken' ever price drop?

I've never seen Speilberg's 'Taken', but I'm a science fiction fan, so I would be interested if it was around $42 like most shows. However, the price for Taken is still $120, usually discounted to $100 in most stores.

Anyone know if there is a planned price drop for 'Taken'?

I've noticed for a while that many sites don't even list it anymore, or list it as unavailable.

My guess is it's out of print, with a lot of copies left at retail. I would think only in print items would be subject to studio price drops.

That expensive!!! In Scandinavia it can be bought for mere $15.00

If you are Region Free the set is really cheap. I got mine for less than $20 US.

Ya know I was just thinking about this set the other day... When I bought it, it came with an exclusive metal shard like the one in the show. I can't seem to find the shard... I think it may have disappeared in my apartment moves over the years. :(

to get Taken, you'll need to be taken. :)

I've tried Ebay, but every time I bid someone goes higher then me. I want it for around $40 and it ALWAYS goes higher. :(

I only watched about half the series when it aired on TV, but from what I saw it seemed really good. Ive also been waiting for a price drop, hopefully if it is out of print, they will re-release it with a price drop.

is this a drop in price or just a mis-price?

madara 03-10-07 09:25 AM

Yeah you think that would drop, it surely not going anywhere. I have agree with friends it was dissapointment. After 4 eps I started fall asleep, surely was no X-files.

If you live in Los Angeles, Amoeba usually has it in stock new for $25. That was the right price for me. :)

Interesting... it was fine before. Maybe they found out the price wasn't right.

I am watching Taken right now...I probally could sell it to you for $50 shipped when I am done in week or so..it is mint and I believe that is less then value I got it for a couple years ago...

drainout 03-11-07 12:41 AM

I usually see copies used at Game Stop for 20-30, worth looking into.

d2cheer 03-11-07 09:36 AM

You may just want to rent it, Blockbuster has it for rent in most stores...

OwlAtHome 03-12-07 02:28 PM

I went and placed an order at DVDEmpire yesterday and today I got an email saying that Taken has been discontinued and my order has been cancelled. Oh well.
