I blind buy a lot of stuff. I'm proud of all my TV DVDs though. Great choices and I've just been lucky.

Goodnight Sweetheart, a Brit-com from region two, all six seasons. Easily one of my favorite comedies in a long time.

Also, for region one, probably Dead Like Me. And Sopranos.

For me it would be a toss up between 24: Season 1 and Alias: Season 1. Both blind buys that had me glued to my seat till the very end!

I bought Significant Others and have loved it. This show is hilarious and since it only ran for two short seasons on Bravo, it's not the huge investment that other series are. I've also liked The Comeback though it's not quite as funny as Significant Others.

Arrested Development. I have an unopened copy of Veronica Mars: S1 on the shelf, so I can't comment on that one yet.

I am strongly considering importing Corner Gas from Canada.

I bought Freaks and Geeks and love it though it's not exactly "blind." I watched somebody's burned copies of several episodes and then found a great deal (Tower Records going-out-of-business-sale).

The best blind buy I've bought of a tv series is Sports Night. I knew nothing about it going in but it came very highly recommended. I now rank it as one of my all-time favorite tv shows.

Lost: Season 1 for sure. I had about $50 in credit at Suncoast and used it for this. SO worth it.

I'll say the X-Files. I watched a few FX episodes but they didn't really make sense (conspiracy ep's mostly). I figured if I watched it from the beginning I'd like it and I did. I bought the 1st season before I even had a dvd player, and at the time, it was the reason I picked up the DVD player.

So, I consider it a blind buy since I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not. Where as the Simpsons I knew I would like despite the fact I had seen less than 5 episodes since the first 2 seasons originally aired, when I was too young to really get most of the jokes and like it mostly for Bart's hijinks and my mother's dislike for the show. I've bought every dvd release since they have come out.

I don't do the blind buy anymore...after I bought Twin Peaks I said I'd never do it again. But I didn't listen to myself and picked up the Bill Cosby Show, which I don't like at all. So this time I will rent before buying any sets I'm not familar with. My local rental store has a good selection of sets for $3 for 5 days for the whole season.
