Freidkin's Sorcerer

I read (though I can't remember excatly when) that William Freidkin recorded a commentary some time ago for what I presume is an upcoming SE of Sorcerer. That film is one of my guilty pleasures and I've been waiting for a long time for a widescreen SE DVD of that film to replace the crappy, full screen, lousy print DVD of Sorcerer that's been around for years. Does anybody have any info about a new DVD of Sorcerer?

I have no info for you, but I would love to have this via a proper presentation. This film is a gem and a personal fave of mine going back to when I saw it in the theater....many years ago. I've seen it maybe 30 times and would love to see it get a little respect and treated proper.

I remember years ago when the film was released on laserdisc, Friedkin chose not to have it letterboxed. I can't remember his reasoning, but I wonder if he will change his mind for a new edition.

Friedkin used to be a rabid black bar hater, but since DVD he's come around. He's supervised the widescreen DVDs for a number of his movies (The Exorcist, The Guardian, To Live & Die in LA, etc.) that he previously insisted be full-frame on laserdisc.
