Slaughter of the Vampires DVD 01/30/07
 

There was a prior release of this DVD that I have, now this new release in January, from Dark Sky films, is this the same release? I've heard that the next release would have an extended movie but it doesn't have any information saying that it is, any help here? I'd try it out if I knew that it would be an extended cut of the film.

It doesn't appear to be an extended cut, but I'm confident the print quality will be superior to the current Retromedia release...

I'm not familiar with this film, but I know Dark Sky has released some terrific genre DVDs in the past year such as:

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer
Magic
Trilogy of Terror
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Ultimate Edition

Is this film any good? I'd be tempted to blind buy it based on Dark Sky's prior releases.

Yeah, the current release has a horrible transfer, I would get the new release anyway just for a better transfer if that's the case. The extended cut would be just the icing on the cake. The actual movie was ok, I can't say it was all that great but ok, reminded me of a Black Sunday thing very dark. But that could of been from the bad transfer too.
