Jet Li’s Fearless (R1) in December Universal Studios Home Video have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Jet Li’s Fearless for 19th December 2006 priced at $29.98 SRP. Inspired by the life of Huo Yuan Jia, a real Chinese martial arts master at the turn of the century, Jet Li takes the title role in his final martial arts epic with action sequences choreographed once again by the legendary Yuen Woo-Ping. Available in separate Widescreen and Full Screen editions, both are single-disc releases which hold both an Unrated Version (104mins) and the US Theatrical Version (103mins) with Mandarin and English DD5.1 Surround audio and optional English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles. Extras include deleted scenes and “A Fearless Journey” featurette. |

I'm glad to see that they are releasing this movie rather quickly in R1 however, that cover art is awful.
I also know that they cut a lot of this movie especially all of the scenes with Michelle Yeoh so hopefully we get that through the deleted scenes. |
I am looking forward to this, and yes, that cover needs to change.

The "unrated" version does not have any additional scenes at all, just snippets of additional violence. And no Michelle Yeoh. The real uncut version is about twenty minutes longer, but the one coming out on this disc is less than one minute longer than the US theatrical cut. |

Might it be that Thai boxer scene that's on the Thai DVD? Just guessing, I haven't see the theatrical release yet.
The longer director's cut, 2hr 20min has been said to be coming out in January. |

I bought this DVD this week and watched it. I'm fairly impressed with the movie and the presentation of the disc.
Anyone know if they are going to be releasing the director's cut with the missing footage anytime soon? Edit - I believe that the deleted scene in the R1 DVD is the fight between the Thai boxer and Jet Li. |
this seems to be a good example of more footage may not equal a better movie...i'd rather have all the scenes as deleted scenes instead of running the movie up another 40 mionutes
