So I bought a LaserDisc on Ebay
 

I was thinking of framing it, any ideas or companies that do this?

I was going to get one of those CEDs because I heard Leo talk about it once but the selection was really bad (it was interesting but most of the CED sellers were trying to be ambiguous as to how to use them)

sam goody/tower/virgin have all sold these in the past...might check a local record store for the frame...ran about 20 bucks i think

Check craft stores like Michaels or A.C. Moore.

So, you bought a laserdisc off of eBay just to frame it?

Or did you buy it to watch but thought the cover was cool enough to frame?

If your intentions are to frame the laserdisc cover, then where are you going to store the disc to protect it from getting damaged?

i dont own a player but i've seen a nice french fist of the north star LD and was thinking of buying it incase i find a cheap player. it's really nice artwork. but alot of the laserdiscs are pretty cheap if a dvd release is out. if not theres still alot of discs that are quite collectable. like lots of criterions.
theres something really nice about having a laserdisc. dvds are made in there millions. while some laserdisc sets are less than 5000. bit like owning a record instead of cd. it's a shame a small company doesnt make a dirt cheap laserdisc player. i think they would sell quite well. as most old players wont last forever.

You can find players for around twenty bucks without too much trouble. I've found a lot of LD's at library sales and the like. Many look unused, and can usually be had for under a dollar. Best find so far is a Criterion "Last Tango in Paris" for a quarter, sealed.

Thats the right Idea but those frames are all a little dull...

You might want to consider framing it without the disc. Keeping the disc in the sleeve inside of the frame will likely cause a stress imprint over time. That's where you'll start to see the outline of the disc through the sleeve.

OP: Prior to that release you just got, there was a limited run of 2500 autographed box sets (sorry about the cellphone pic)

It looks like there is already a bit of a stress imprint, I was actually thinking of having the disc compleatly or partially out of the box OO like that maybe

Seller lied about condition but still frameable
anyone with anymore suggestions?

I think I've seen record frames at Michaels and other craft stores, so you could look there (or on their websites). Michaels usually has a 40-50% off coupon each week, too.

I've framed a bunch of vinyl album covers with these frames from Walmart, and I've been very pleased with them. The good thing is that you can leave the album (or in your case, the laserdisc) in the jacket and hang the whole thing on the wall.

If they were cheaper, I might bite. I have been buying some LD's or CED's when I see them in thrift shops, just for the art and I'd like to frame a few.

There were a bunch of CED's of pretty common titles that my local thrift shop got in. I bought a few for the art (they were a little banged up), but another guy in there bought a slew of them and then went out and paid $80 for a CED player. Seemed pretty stupid to me when they were readily available on DVD or Blu-ray, but to each their own I guess.

I have gotten some nice album frames from www.bagsunlimited.com. Search for LP frame kits to see what they have. I bought the matted ones and like them very much.
