I bought the wrong Star Wars, yippee!
I consider myself pretty intelligent when it comes to DVDs, however today Lucas and Co. were cleverly able to fool me. I'm in Circuit City and I see a Star Wars Trilogy box set with the classic art. Now I've never seen this before till now. I got pretty excited that I was buying the new set coming out Tuesday. I had to make sure though. The box has a sticker on it that says "Limited Edition", ok I'm good so far. It has a different UPC number and price than the silver Vader box set. Ok, everything looks to be in order. I get home do a little searching and what do you know I just seem to have the first double dip of Star Wars on DVD which I didn't even know existed till a few minutes ago. Thank god I didn't open it yet. Now I'm off to Circuit City to return my DVDs. Suckekeke indeed.

So this is what you got?

At least you didn't open it. That re-release is pretty stupid though. I have a friend that did the exact same thing, thinking it was the OT.

yeah, the only thing great about it is the the original poster artwork on the sleeves.

I remember when that release was announced and the boxart shown, there were quite a few of us who thought this was the one, the one where Lucas redeemed himself. Only one more disappointment in a long line of them.

You can't buy releases early at Circuit City. If you try to ring up a new release the POS system will throw up a street date warning and prohibit the sale.

Don't worry Popcorn, you weren't the only one fooled by that stupid re-release. I've had quite a few customers think that boxset contained the original releases. Why use the original cover art if you're selling the Special Edition versions? |
