The Thing From Another World- SE ever?

What with Forbidden Planet getting its long overdue SE, what about the other classic of the era, this movie which as of now just has a barebones edition?

I doubt it but I find it funny on the dvd cover saying 50th ann. edition and it being extraless.

They're just a little slow .... which would explain why a "50th Anniversary Edition" of a 1951 movie didn't show up in 2001, but in 2003.

wouldn't expect it anytime soon...it doesn't have the same mass following....not many 50's sci fi movie do...plan 9 and the day the earth stood still mabe.

personally i'd rather see warner get to the other 80% of the library it hasn't released

But this isn't really just another film, it's up there with The Day the Earth Stood Still and Forbidden Planet, it's such an iconic film, 'watch the skies' is one of the most well known lines ever, its suspense is unparalleled in other scifi films of the era.

agreed that among sci fi fans, its a classic...but it doesn't have the same clout as the other two mentioned as film in general. Forbidden Planet, and to a lesser extent Day The Earth Stood Still are the posterchildren for the history of sci FI....I'd add metropolis to the mix...everything else (though classics in their own right) are just not as well loved

My copy does not say "50th Ann..." on the cover at all. But the transfer and audio sounds fine and that's all that matters to me. So I'm very happy with the release:)
