The Blind Dead Collection

I'm sure there's already a thread about this somewhere, so I apologize in advance for creating another thread about it. It's hard to search for a thread with "Blind," in the title, because all sorts of blind-buy topics come up.

Anyways, what I wanted to ask is:

What is the quality of this set like? Is it a good blind-buy for a horror fanatic/zombie movie fan? It's $20 at a local horror convention, for some reason, and...although they sold out yesterday, they're supposed to get more in today. My friend is volunteering there, so I'm trying to get him to pick me up a copy.

Its a high-quality set but the movies aren't exactly amazing. They are kinda slow, creepy, building tension as they go. Not a good blind buy in the sense that many horror fans probably wouldn't like them (although many would).

For $20 bucks though its a no brainer. Are you sure it the same set? I've never seen it even close to that price.

twenty bucks is a no brainer...you can get that back in the trade forums no problem if you hated it. BUy it

For $20, it's probably a bootleg set. Those were around forever, before there was an official set out.

The official set is the best the movies will probably ever look, so if you like them it is a no brainer. As others have said though, $20.00 indicates a bootleg set.

i think its a special from the blue underground booth...

The DVDs at the convention are being sold by a DVD vendor called Cinema-1, I picked it up yesterday and it's totally legit. They were also selling the Dawn of the Dead Ultimate edition for $22 CDN. Needless to say, everything went pretty quick. When I went back today to pick up a copy for Wick they had no more in stock.

It sucks, but I guess only the vendors were able to get it. I was hoping more would come in today, because the lady seemed pretty sure that they'd have more in. Hopefully they get some more tomorrow, for the last day of the convention.

If not, I'll just have to check around for low prices; possibly on Ebay.

That was a problem at Comic-Con with the exclusives.
