I thought this thread was about exclusives?

Can't we ever have a thread not get derailed into bitching and moaning?

So, why even come into this thread if you obviously have no interest. There already is a thread discussing the "feces".

The only true exclusives that come with these Original Trilogy releases are:

A fist up your ass and a big "Fuck You" from George Lucas.

Let me join in with some of you on this thread by saying this isnt the place to debate wether or not this release is worth buying or not. You have your 100 + page thread to do that in, go there and have at it (although "the Bits" news bite on the mega 30th Anniversery set in 2007 is giving me something to mull over; if only it could beat my upcoming first child in April so I can convince my wife Im not "wasting money again on DVD's". The opposite sex; gotta love em).

Anyways, back on topic....

I too have the giant size Empire comics adaptation and the 4 issue marvel limited series for Jedi, but both are in pretty bad shape and I would be interested in these "graphic novels".

But Im still on record that I am only barely willing to pay 10 bucks each for these releases, and I dont know if I would be willing to pay that much for Jedi (Leia's slave bikini not withstanding).

Any clue what pricing might be like at the major retailers yet?

It'll be a hell of a lot more than $10 each, since their per-title retail price is $29.98; I'm thinking $17-$20 each on release week.

No way, Walmart will blast these out of their stores at about $14, mark my words...$20 for the disk and bonus

I was really hoping Wal-Mart or somebody else would have had the original making of docs as bonus discs. One per movie.

It's a real shame those have not been officially released on DVD.

There's so much stuff they could release, it's not funny. For all the Lucas apologists who always claim they didn't keep "making-of" stuff for movies before the advent of DVD, these would have been the perfect "STFU" kind of item. Though I have to say that they shouldn't be retailer exclusives, but available for anyone to buy.

The link is from Best Buy Canada so I'm sure the US will have it too.

I really like the idea of the reprints of the Marvel adaptations. I have an old beat-up version of Star Wars, a worn copy of ESB in the paperback version, and can't find my ROTJ copy.

For the right price, I might consider this dammit.

The Best Buy Tin set for $87.00 is not worth it IMO. I refuse to rebuy the trilogy again until it is released on HD-DVD. I have pruchased the trilogy 3 times now (VHS, Dif LS set) and DVD. HD-DVD or nothing going forward.
