Warner Home Video and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) partner to spotlight three rare ground-breaking films from Hollywood’s Pre-Production Code era with the Region 1 DVD release of TCM Archives: Forbidden Hollywood Collection Volume 1 on 5th December 2006.. This first in a series of releases of provocative, shocking feature films from the Warner Bros. library is a restored and remastered Two-Disc Collection of three legendary and notorious films. Welcome news, but is anyone else put off by the $49.95 price tag for a two disc, three movie set?

Most single movie DVDs are $29.99 MSRP.. where's the problem?

every other TCM archives set has been 40 bucks msrp...so i don't really see the problem...cost of restoration and all....i would rather pay that than not have them available

I figure about 34.00 or so after the usual 30% off at amazon.

You bet...especially since that is the same price as WHV's recent six-disc Film Noir Classic Collection, Vol. 3 box set... Personally, I hope it's a typo and the actual list price for the two-discer will be $39.97 (like the previous TCM Archives collections.)

Considering the WB pricing on so many of their other box sets, this does seem a bit on the high side - but the films themselves are gems.

The Digital Bits lists the price as $39.92, which makes more sense.
