whatever happened to maniac cop?
i had the eilte version which i sold on ebay for about $100 a few years ago. but i cant even see many floating around on ebay these days. can elite not do a rerelease?
I dunno, but I hope they release it as some point, it's been on my want to see list for a while.
Perhaps they lost the rights? Let's hope Bill Lustig does it justice and releases it remastered on Blue Underground.
I thought Synapse had the rights & was working on a new release? Bill was supposed to be contributing as well.
There's always a possibility for a re-release, but nothing been definitely announced at the present time.
I haven't seen this since I was a teenager. I've been hoping that it'd get re-released.
Did the crappy, no-frills version that Legacy put out come out before or after the Elite version? I see it every now and then, but fear that the quality is so low that it would be a mistake to buy it.

I found it at a used CD/DVD store, for about $10. Needless to say, I bought it.
I got the Legacy version for 1.99 at Walgreen's. It's pretty cheap and crappy, but then so is the movie so it's kind of fitting.
I recall reading a blurb recently that the disc is going to sport an all new high def transfer and dts sound in addition to what is surely going to be a plethora of extras. Although from Don May I expect no less.

It would be cool if they could license the commentary from the Elite release.
