third rock best buy audio chip talking box question
 

ok, i couldnt find this discussed anywhere on the forum,
so forgive me if it has..

did best buy only put audio chips on the 1st 3 seasons of 3rd rock?

when season 4 came out, i couldnt get to the store until saturday,
so i thought they just ran out of the promo version..
but when i grabbed season 5 today (tuesday),
i noticed they didnt have any audio chips either..

ill also agree that exclusive stuff can be annoying,
but as long as the price is still good
& the promo is just a gimick like this,
then i see no reason in complaining about it..

personally, i find useless gimicks to be amusing..
(fyi, the audio chip on my speed racer dvd is STILL working)

No. Just one of the seasons (3 or 4, I can't remember).

I think season two came with 3D glasses.

Seasons 1-3 of 3rd Rock have voice chips - they weren't Best Buy exclusive either.

Correct, I got one during one of DDD's sales.

Well maybe in the states. Only one of my boxsets came with the audio chip.

did season 4 & 5 have audio chips?
i couldnt find any, so did they stop with season 3?

did anyone find season 4 or 5 with an audio chip?

I am pretty sure season 4 has. I bought season 5 today and it didn't have one.

not exactly a solid confirmation,
but since i havent found any in stores or on ebay,
& noone seems to be claiming to actually have them w/ chips,
ill just assume they did stop w/ 3..

fyi (for those who dont know yet),
the 6th & final season of 3rd rock is set for nov 14
