Is it just me, or has Disney stopped releasing catalog titles. Seems they haven't released anything from their catalog since THE SHAGGY DOG and THE SHAGGY D.A.

Besides their releasing Disney Channel originals every other month there are still many titles (BESIDES SONG OF THE SOUTH) that have yet to see the light of day on DVD, including:

Some may have been released via Anchor Bay, but I am still awaiting an official Disney DVD release, and hopefully (though not holding my breath) in its Original Aspect Ratio.

They're too busy counting money from that new pirates movie. Or may be still on transition for Blu-Ray. On any case, at least they're still releasing their animated catalog titles, so I won't complain much.

Hopefully, Iger's changes will include more respect for Disnet's live action catalog. Although, with the Song of the South situation, I'm not holding my breath. It's really not a rational business decision. Other than white people in general being portrayed as shallow, uncaring and selfish, there's nothing in the film that could be construed as racist.

At any rate, I wouldn't expect full restoration jobs like they've done for the classic animation titles, but proper sound and decent transfers (with perhaps a little clean up) in OAR would go a long way to making most of us Disney live action fans happy.

Yeah, I've noticed this too... they had a real flurry of activity a few years back with thier live-action catalog titles. But things have been pretty quiet for a couple of years.

For the record The Peter Tchaikovsky Story is on the Sleeping Beauty DVD, as is a reporduction of advertising material that promoted the Disneyland television show's screening with simulcast stereo on FM radio. However the program is not presented in stereo on the DVD.

You can get a few of those titles by going out of region 1 (So Dear to my Heart, Kidnapped, One of Our Dinosaurs Is Missing, The Waltz King, Incredible Journey, probably others). There are also a handful available as Disney Movie Club exclusives. Otherwise, the vast majority of titles on your list are MIA, and completists such as myself are just waiting to fork over some dough to Disney (OAR, please!).

I hope The Scarecrow eventually gets released as a Disney Treasure. The individual tv episodes instead of the movie version. Disney has to know how popular this is.

I'll second that vote for Dr. Syn (as the 3 part Wonderful World of Disney mini series). There are a lot of movies on the op list that I'd spend my money on if in oar with a decent transfer. It'd sure be nice if someone from Disney decided to turn those old classics into a big profit from us. Are you listening, Disney???

You forgot to add A Tiger Walks(1964).

This was Sabu last movie before he passed away.

I'm still waiting for Ten Who Dared and Menace on the Mountain.
I picked up Kidnapped from Region 2.
I've always wanted to see Treasure of Matecumbe.

Disney Movie Club recently added The Story of Robin Hood and Kidnapped as "exclusives". A Tiger Walks is there as well.

I saw that the DISNEY MOVIE CLUB released those two titles - unfortunately they were not released in their ORIGINAL ASPECT RATIO and the reviews i've seen at ultimatedisney.com were not -- well great.

It seems that Iger's and Lassiter's "greatness" has yet to be fallen on Disney's video section. Oh the money they could make...

For me it's worth staying in the club just for this series alone. Well, except for the two Polly releases. They are the only ones I haven't gotten so far. And frankly they aren't enticing enough to make me a completist.
