Anyone know aabout LIFEFORCE (anamorphic or not)?
It was rereleased by SONY or UCA in March.
CDWOW has it and does not say if it is anamorphic or not, so I emailed them and the guy who responded assured me it was. anyone? |
I have Lifeforce (UPC 27616-70172), and unfortunately I can assure you it is not anamorphic.

EDIT: Uncertain answer deleted -- ash69 has a definite answer.
Shame, I liked the movie. |
Hold up a sec... CDWow? Are you talking about a Region 2 edition?
If so, you should probably ask this in the International forum. But the R1 edition is, in fact, disappointingly non-anamorphic. |
yes the new R2 re release-I keep forgetting that this is not DVD TIMES which is UK;
But damn SONY theyve rereleased it in Japan and the UK-even raised the price and put "16:9" in the database, then flake out, and lie. Wht in the hell is wrong with those people? Can they be THAT clueless? We already know the answer May their Blueray become the next BETAMAX. |
This is one of my favorite movies (R1). I would love a better presentation but am just so happy that it is on DVD in the first place. There are a few Sci-Fi B-movies that I love that are still not on DVD, like The KEEP and Wavelength.

LIFEFORCE (FOX/MGM) Sept 11. R1
same old same old? I hold out hope for 16x9, only because it doesnt make sense to spend the $$ to go throught the minor packaging changes for what is already a 'bottom tier' priced disc if it IS the same old WS/flat disc.. They could just keep rolling out the stock version-as is, and spend not a dime. They had the decency to do the DeFlorette/Manon double feature in 16x9-possibly a lesser selling disc-and it seems that FOX likes to do the right thing... I have the German theatrical, which is 16x9 not too bad-a puzzler-why would such a small market spend the money, but here with a huge market, they wont? |
