Hammer Film Noir Set from VCI?

Does anyone know if the above has been postoned/delayed from its 7/25 release date? My order at DDD still shows a ship date of 7/14 but it has not been shipped yet.

Thanks, I was thinking it had probably been delayed as other titles from VCI have been in the past. Hope for 8/15, probably be 9/15.

DVD Beaver confirms release date:

"We called VCI Entertainment again. All Hammer Film Noir sets (the 3 individual ones and a 3-DVD set) will be released on August 15th instead of the previously announced July 25th."

What terms are you using to search? It's the first thing that comes up for me with "Hammer Film Noir" or "Hammer noir":

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...v=glance&n=130

Here it is at other retailers as well:

So, is anyone familar with the titles in the set? Or just buying it for the noir genre, like I'am and the Hammer Studio association?

I've never seen any of them but this set has been on my radar for a bit... Waiting for reviews and feedback from DVDTalkers before I bite. But yeah, definitely interested in seeing what a Hammer "noir" is all about.

I've never seen any of them either... but I'm usually pleasantly surprised with both VCI's noir releasese and Hammer films. And I figure I'm getting 6 films for $17 or so. At less than $3 each, I feel comfortable with a blind buy.

Well, its the 15th and still no HFN set in sight. I checked Amazon and it says it usually ships in 1 to 2 weeks. DDD has it as not-in-stock when you put it in your cart. I guess we better shoot for a 9/15 date now......

Amozon has the three Hammer Film Noir single releases listed as in-stock but the box set is now listed with an 8/29 release.

Got a shipping notice on 8/23 and it arrived today 8/26 from DDD!!! About the fastest I have ever received and item from.

I have never seen packaging like this. It just has a spindle thing and then the 3 disc's are on it (one on top of the other) and they do move around on it and at first I though I had a floater. The disc's look okay but I dont know about keeping them this way as it looks like they could get scratched quite easily over time.

That packaging sounds like it's going t be a real letdown - is the art from all three individual releases well represented on the 3 disc set packaging? Got a notice that mine shipped today, but maybe I'll turn around, sell it and opt for the individual releases...

On the front cover is a picture for Man Bait 1 3/4 by 1 1/4. On the back it has the other 5 titles shown 1 3/16 by 14/16 of an inch and the images are overlaping by about 1/16.
