It pretty much covered all that was in the book, and then some, didn't it? What else can they add?

I held off on the current release just because of this.

This makes me glad that I resisted buying the current 2-disc release

Me too . . . I bought the barebones release because the deal was hard to pass up ($12.99). It has the same transfer and the DTS soundtrack. Well . . . I'm all over this 4 disk extended cut whenever it is released!

This movie is not Lord of the Rings, nor should it try to be. With the LOTR extended uts, there was worthwhile footage to add.

And you think otherwise because? Aslan's part in the film was severly cut compared to the novel. This is one area most agreed on the theatrical cut. The impact of his sacrifice was hampered by the fact he had little to no interaction with the children, making the scene with Lucy & Susan unnatural and forced. I would love to see his part expanded upon.

Didn't buy the either of the first two releases, because everyone knew this was coming. I will be picking this up.

Acutally, this is an extended edition that I can get excited about. When I saw this film in the theaters, I thought that it could have benefited from being longer, and it was most likely shortened due to worries about the number of theatrical showings and children's attention spans. So count me in for buying this release.

Honestly, complaints about this film not being LOTR confound me. Is it as good, of course its not. But it is a solid children's film, which could possibly be made better with an extended edition, so why not release one? I wonder how many here that think this release is unnecessary will shell out cash for an extended King Kong. Honestly, an extended King Kong boggles my mind that movie was way too long to begin with...

I bought the bare bones expecting this. The only way they'll get me to get this is if they really do add enough extended footage to make it worthwhile.
