Wow. The movie already felt long. I don't know about another 28 minutes.

I felt the beginning was rushed, maybe it'll flesh it out a bit more. I didn't feel it ran long though, so I hope they have both versions on there, some people will not want +28.

Have studios almost completely abandoned seamless branching? I wish they could release the extended and original versions on the same disc. IMO, seamless branching is one of the coolest features of DVD, but ironically, it seems that as the format has progressed it's been mostly phased out.

I would suspect that the DVD will be released simultaneously around the world, just as the theatrical release was similarly coordinated.

Looking forward to seeing this again. Given the number of historical figures and actual locations, there's an opportunity for some really great extras.

I imagine the extended cut will contain more stuff
Spoiler:
concerning that sexual ritual Sophie's grandfather was involved with

According to an Italian retail source, Sony Pictures will release a two-disc special edition Extended Cut of The Da Vinci Code on October 24th. Not quite sure if this date holds for the rest of Region 2 Europe, but for now it's apparently the release date in Italy. Thanks to Andrea Alfonso for the heads

Wow, 28 more minutes. That gives us a three hour Da Vinci Code. I'll check it out (thought the movie was okay, but nowhere near as bad as some lead me to believe). Some parts of the movie confused me (I am one of the three people out there who hasn't read the novel), so maybe this will help to enlighten me on a few scenes.

I loved the movie, but my only problem was that the little change at the end slightly pissed me off.

I really had no interest in this movie when it was in the theaters but now that I've finally got around to reading the book and having enjoyed it I'll most likely pick this up as a blind buy.

good movie. wonder what they will have in the dvd gift set? i am sure it will go OOP a week or two after it releases like munich and other recent releases.

Is there any word on a feature on Hans Zimmer's score?
