Cartoons and HDTVs

hey guys, i was curious since i'm getting a HDTV this summer. are there any image problems when watching SD DVD cartoons like simpsons and family guy on HDTVs? i read that were are minor pixelation with certain scenes or something like that in reviews. is it a major problem?

what about watching cartoons on a cable? like i said, just curious. thanks in advance.

The only thing I'm aware of is the interlacing issues which would be hard to detect on a standard definition TV but would be more prominent on HD progressive scan sets.

Unless there was a specific problem with a specific title, then the only thing that could come up is the better display showing any flaws in the source material that were always there, but not as visible on an SDTV.

Watched on the standard-def channels, if it's a large TV, they sometimes look a little smeary. Watched in hi-def or from DVD, they look amazing.

In my opinion, SD cartoons look great on an HDTV. I think in many cases they look better than live action SD.
