Quantum Leap: Season 4 by Christmas?
This may be out of date, but I couldn't find anything on DVDtalk about it. Must've slipped by. According to tvshowsondvd & Scifi.com:
But if this is true, an official announcement could be around the corner.
Quantum Leap - Leaping to conclusions that we'll get S4 by Christmas!
Posted by David Lambert - 3/14/2005
The folks at The Sci Fi Channel run a great website. Not only does it cover and promote shows and events tied to the cable network, but it truly reaches out to science fiction fans with genre-related info that may not be directly related to their broadcasts. One of the cool things at their site along those lines is the Events Calendar. It lists dates for SciFi channel events like premieres of special shows and so forth, but also lists film openings, convention dates, book releases...and now DVD release dates as well, it seems.
Many of the DVD's you'll find on their master list are for releases we've already talked about, including the dates of all four seasons of Enterprise. The big surprise, though, are some end-of-the-year release dates for 5 highly anticipated sets from Univesal Studios Home Video!
Quantum Leap - Season 4 is one of those titles, and the SciFi.com events calendar is reporting a 12/13/2005 release date for it!
We tried to get Universal to comment on this, but they would neither confirm nor deny that schedule. What came up is that, if this DID represent the current plans for that set's release, we have to realize that plans can always change. Nothing that far off is set in stone, and we think our readers here at TVShowsOnDVD are among the best on the 'Net at realizing that. Still, it's good to know that it's that much on the radar, and even if that doesn't turn out to be the exact date, it seems to be coming!
Our thanks to two readers who tipped us off to these items being on the schedule: Michael Dormany and Jason Shanker. Stay tuned, and we'll keep you posted about this title, and the others on that listing, as soon as we hear more!

Good to hear there is at least talk of the next season coming. I was getting afraid it had been dropped after S3.
Aside from shows with only one season like the original BSG, QL may be the first TV series for which I get every season. That is, if each season gets released.

I stopped picking these up after they started changing almost ALL of the music. However, I will pick up the R2 releases when and if they have the original music. They STILL haven't put out the second season outside of R1.

I wish I hadn't purchased S2 and S3 R1 releases. They are going in the for sale pile.

I started my own thread because I did not see this thread when I searched for "Quantum Leap". Hmm, just tried a search again and this one still didn't show up. Weird. I deleted my thread.
Anyway, Universal has caught ire from fans for changing the episodes but they will really catch hell if they don't release seasons 4 or 5.

I think S3 has been confirmed to be untouched overseas as well Numes. Some one revived the S2(S3?) discussion a few weeks back.

Can someone explain the episode changes/problems briefly? What music differences are there? Also - I'm not a huge DVD afficianado, so I don't understand the Region 1 vs Region 2 issue. Where would I get region 2 and how would I be sure the region 2 sets worked?

If you bought it in the US it is a region 1 player. It won't play region 2 discs. Some have codes you can input into the remote to force them to be region free. Google your player and region free to see if yours can do that.

I don't think S4 or S5 have been announced in any region yet.
If you have a region free player, I would definitely go with the R2 releases. With the $2 off link for cd-wow, I got it for the same price I paid for the R1 release (which I am now trying to sell)

Only going off of the discussion in the earlier thread.
Post with info
I thought there was more to it, but that was the only post I could find.

Looks like Universal wants nothing to do with customer feedback. Season 4 has been announced. DVD-18s again. Oh well, I'm not buying anyway.
