Finally!

Well, anything's better than the bare bones release, even if it's another 1 disc.

dvd_luver 05-24-06 11:00 AM

Great movie, but I won't upgrade, it's just one of those films were I am just happy with the presentation alone and just want the movie.

ruk 05-24-06 11:13 AM

Been waiting for this one.

Geofferson 05-24-06 11:39 AM

Excellent - glad to hear of it.

Yeah, I'll stick with my version now too. I'm not really sure that any extras could add to the experience of such a deeply emotional film. If anything; knowing some of those insights might detract from it.

paulringodaman 05-24-06 12:09 PM

Never got the original, will be picking this up!

animatedude 05-24-06 12:40 PM

iam sure the extras will be identical to the extras of the UK disc.

DeanoBKN 05-24-06 02:22 PM

Which where?

I admit, it's an odd film to rerelease, but from the looks of this thread there is an audience for it. I'll be picking it up myself.

Josh H 05-24-06 02:33 PM

Great movie, but not one I'd remotely consider double dipping on as I don't have any desire to watch extras on it.

tofferman 05-24-06 02:37 PM

I'm mixed on this rerelease as well. It's an awesome movie, but I would be curious as to what the extras may be. Perhaps early reviews would sway my decision.

animatedude 05-24-06 02:48 PM

universal should get over themselves and release a SE of Mulholland Drive..

slop101 05-24-06 02:49 PM

A chronological-cut of the movie would be nice, since the non-linear editing of the movie's time-line made little sense to it's narrative, or what Inarritu was trying to get across by having it jump around so much.

haha but why do you blame David Lynch and not Universal? both Universal and David Lynch should get over themselves....

btw, isn't Inland Empire supposed to be out during the cannes festivals but now i see no mention of it anywhere....what happened?

I blame Universal because there's a very nice 2-disc SE of M.Dr. available in France with beaucoup extras that have Lynch as a contributor.

fryinpan1 05-24-06 05:04 PM

This is a great movie and it deserved a special edition DVD release as the first and only release. I will wait for specs and reviews though before I double dip.

nah, you just didn't "get it" :p

Josh-da-man 05-24-06 06:58 PM

They should've called it The 1" Erect Nipples Edition.

AnonomusBob15 05-24-06 10:30 PM

I absolutely love this movie, but I doubt I will pick this up.

I will give it a second thought if it has ample amounts of cast and crew interviews and editing featurettes. I bet the director's accent is too heavy to enjoy.

DrStrangeL0ve71 05-24-06 11:57 PM

I was seriously just thinking about how when this dvd was originally coming out it had extras and then they dumped them all and released the barebones instead. So I waited two years and here it is, I'll pick it up. Just weird that I was thinking about it and here it is.

nitin77 05-25-06 05:00 AM

perhaps a sense of fractured memories much like the protagonists.

FM 05-25-06 07:01 AM

I nearly caved on several occasions, but holding out will finally pay off (I hope - I mean, come on, this is Universal we're talking about).

Hmm. Mixed emotions, but I"ll probably buy it regardless. I never bought the original, and this is probably as good as it will get.
