As far as whether to order the HK version or the Dragon Dynasty version? I would go with Dragon Dynasty. It will have an audio commentary and the extras will be in english. The HK version is only good for watching the movie. The extras are only in Cantonese.
thanks. i will wait. i guess no site has added the dragon dynasty version to their sites yet. hopefully the will soon.

This is just my guess based on the titles mentioned on the press release articles by Dragon Dynasty but it seems that Drunken Master 2 and Iron Monkey are some of the movies still with Disney since they are no mention of them by the Weinsteins.

Can you confirm that Linn1?

I work at Blockbuster, and rented a couple of these that don't come out until the 16th I believe. The Protector, and Seven Swords. They're both 2 disc editions and have extremely ugly covers, the normal cover with a blue frame around it saying "BLOCKBUSTER EXCLUSIVE!". The discs are also solid blue saying the same.

Anybody know why it's exclusive?

The Weinsteins sign an exclusive agreement with Blockbuster for them to carry their DVDs. The thread below should give you more information.

My understanding is they more or less only got stuff from Disney that didn't get a release in theaters.

I suppose I'll try to keep the first post updated with a current list of titles, spine numbers, and announced releases with dates if I can.

Here's the list of titles so far:

#1 - Kill Zone
#2 - Police Story
#3 - The Protector
#4 - Seven Swords
#5 - Police Story 2 (02/13)
#6 - Infernal Affairs 2 (02/13)
#7 - Infernal Affairs 3 (02/13)

Just to note, the Dragon Dynasty label will be releasing the Infernal Affairs Trilogy on 02/13 as well. This is according to Amazon. Unless I'm missing something, the original movie is only part of the box set. Don't know what spine number it will carry.

I picked up all four releases today, watched The Protector and Police Story so far. I already loved Police Story, first time with The Protector, seems like a pretty good treatment of both.

Maybe it'll be the Miramax disc bundled with the set.
