Well we know HD sets will be here sooner than later now due to the syndication announcement.
Really glad I haven't bought any sets myself even though I'm a huge fan. Did cave and buy the movies though...except for that tenth one...

If any of you have an HD-DVD player I would hold off on buying Star Trek series. They will be releaseing the HD version the first part of 2007.

nope. Not scheduled yet. They have only finished just a few of the HD tweaks on TOS eps so far. Won't be released on an HD format for probably 2 years. Go to StarTrek.com for details. Also the remastered series at this point will only be broadcast in SD.

I just read an article on MSNBC that says that "...high-definition versions of the original "Star Trek" shows, complete with updated special effects, are set to debut in syndication September 16th. Check your local listings."
