TOS at a decent price level ......I think I'm about to boldly go where my DVD collection has not gone before.

Well we know HD sets will be here sooner than later now due to the syndication announcement.

Really glad I haven't bought any sets myself even though I'm a huge fan. Did cave and buy the movies though...except for that tenth one...

Getting them two years after they were released hardly counts as "boldly"...

Now, 7 days later, sets are down to $41.

If any of you have an HD-DVD player I would hold off on buying Star Trek series. They will be releaseing the HD version the first part of 2007.

nope. Not scheduled yet. They have only finished just a few of the HD tweaks on TOS eps so far. Won't be released on an HD format for probably 2 years. Go to StarTrek.com for details. Also the remastered series at this point will only be broadcast in SD.

I'm not seeing Amazon having these TOS sets 1, 2 or 3 for this price. Did I miss this already as the prices have been bouncing around? I see them for $48.99 each as of now.

I just read an article on MSNBC that says that "...high-definition versions of the original "Star Trek" shows, complete with updated special effects, are set to debut in syndication September 16th. Check your local listings."
