Platoon original Live Entertainment release worth anything nowadays?
 

Is the original Platoon release from Live Entertainment worth anything more than the newer MGM release? I couldn't find one in the completed items on eBay or on other (lesser) pricing sites, and was looking to sell it, but didn't want to charge more if it wasn't worth anything over the new release or less if it was. Thanks.

It really isn't worth anything.

I did read in some reviews that the MGM Special Edition had some color issues that were not on the Live release, but didn't compare to the lack of anamorphic enhancement. Also, these problems will probably be fixed on the upcomming special edition to be released by Columbia.

Agreed - perhaps if there was some extras that weren't carried over, it would have some value, but since it doesn't, I can't see any reason for anyone to be lusting after this edition.

agreed that the only thing worth making it a keeper is the color scheme is correct on this version alone, but it is non anamorphic...hopefully this will be resolved in the new edition

it's only worth something if someone actually gives you cash or something for it :)
