Spider-Man ('90's) in Season sets
Bucky O' Hare and the Toad Menace (or whatever it was called)

Giantrobo 05-13-06 09:03 AM

70's Japanese "Super Robot" Cartoons. Raideen, Getter Dragon, Mazinga, and many others.

They're probably ony out in Japan...

Sean O'Hara 05-13-06 11:01 AM

I wish MTV would put out the rest of their animated series -- Daria, The Head, and The Maxx.

Unfortunately, this is not going to happen. We can't even get the hacked and dubbed English versions (Tranzor Z, Starvengers, etc.) on DVD, though they were released on VHS. Stuff from the 80's like St. Seiya and Aura Battler Dunbine seemed to be all but ignored by modern day anime fans, so stuff from the 70's (outside of the remakes) would seem doomed to fail as well.

Of course, I never thought I'd see the day when Gaogaigar was licensed, so what do I know?

X-Men were on DVD, just not season sets and the video was not all that good.

The art work was OK, but I loved the long story lines, it is still a great series.

The Mysterious Cities of Gold!!

grem458 10-04-06 11:12 PM

"Hulk" from the mid-'60's.

kevkev 10-05-06 02:03 PM

mysterious cities of gold. was that called ullysees (spelling**) or was that another show. funny how i cant remember half of the shows but i remember all the intros and themes. inspector gadget was the best.

Cold_As_IceSMM 10-05-06 02:34 PM

All seasons of Reboot. Legal BS holding things up, apparently.

hal9000 10-05-06 03:38 PM

Dexter's Laboratory

Bluelitespecial 10-05-06 03:50 PM

Although this has probably been said in this thread, Tiny Toons.

NoirFan 10-05-06 04:57 PM

Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse
Twisted Tales of Felix The Cat (more than the single DVD that is currently available)
Brothers Grunt

PikeBishop 10-05-06 05:47 PM

Mysterious Cities of Gold would be fantastic. There's a web site out there that used to have all the episodes available for steam, pretty sure it's not up anymore. That was a great show, with a huge arcing storyline and quality animation.

testpattern 10-06-06 08:39 AM

I haven't seen these two show up yet. Both early-to-mid 80's.

Fang Face ( was this part of the Plastic Man series? )
Dennis the Menace ( with the Dairy Queen like Dennis )

Both of these are must haves for me.

Also someone was asking about the <b>Warner Banned</b> cartoons. They are available, but not as sets, unless you get them via ebay. <b>Wal-Mart</b> has those $1 dollar cartoon collections, mostly named Cartoon Crazies, that have one or two of the Warner Bros. collections. I've gotten at least 7 of the 11, although the quality is questionable. Those banned cartoons are all in public domain now, so they aren't that hard to find in the cheap DVD sections.

Yeah, it was part of the Plastic Man show. I'm really surprised with the way DC has been putting out older shows that they haven't gotten around to this one yet.

Paul

Bronkster 10-06-06 10:37 AM

The Alvin Show (from the 60s - not that later crap!)
The Adventures of Tintin (also from the 60s)

Drensch 10-06-06 12:24 PM

For shame! No one has mentioned EEk! the cat.

I'd also kill for Exo Squad and Pirates of Dark Water.

riley_dude 10-06-06 12:29 PM

Atom Ant
Secret Squirrel

You are thinking of "Spartacus and the Sun Beneath the Sea"

comanche_doyle 10-08-06 04:53 AM

One that I haven't seen mentioned yet is Belle and Sebastian, which was on nickelodeon when I was young. It was about a boy and his two dogs looking for his mother in the mountains between france and spain. It was my favorite back in the 80's.

So that's where their name come from.

toddly6666 04-26-08 10:01 PM

So here's an update:

Hulk movie came out and sequel is coming out - no word on Hulk 1990s complete series DVDs

Transformers movie came out and sequel is coming out - Transformers DVDs out-of-print in USA (only available in the UK)

G.I. Joe movie is coming out - first DVD seasons out of print and no word on complete series on DVD

THREE Spiderman movies came out - no word on 1990s Spiderman complete series on DVD

THREE X-MEN movies came out - no word on 1990s X-men complete series on DVD

Iron Man movie is coming out - no word on 1990s Iron Man complete series on DVD (only available in the UK)

Fantastic Four movie and sequel came out - no word on 1990s Silver Surfer complete series on DVD

Does anyone know if rights lawyers are battling to get these DVDs out allready or are these series just sitting on the shelf gaining dust? I still don't understand why they can't get these DVDs out when their hugely popular movies come out.
