Photoshop a plenty!
Way to put a picture of Chewie from Empire and 3PO and R2 from Jedi on the Star Wars artwork.
And...put a picture of Vader from Sith plus a picture of Han from Star Wars on Empire.
Jedi looks ok.

On the plus side, at least Chewie is on a cover now.
Would it have killed them to use a photo of Han from ESB for that cover?

They aren't very good, but then none of Lucas' films have DVD covers worth a shit, except for THX1138. It's obvious they don't put a lot of thought into it. Makes you wonder what happened, because the LD box sets had kickass package. No big deal, as they're easily replaceable.

This is a stupid nitpick, but its been on my mind since the day after this was announced, so I'll throw it out there...
Let say there is a sheltered human being out there with no internet who laments the fact that all there was out there on DVD were the special editions of the OT. He sees them re-realease the special editions in a box set with the only difference being there is no Empire of Dreams disc. So he see's these discs out there and says to himself, "Oh great, now Lucas is raping up re-re-releasing those crappy SE's individually and putting a "Limited Time" only stamp on them and doesnt check the back of the box to see that, low and behold, these contain the unaltered masterpieces intact just the way he fell in love with them?
In other words, I dont see where these boxes tell anyone who doesnt know how they stand out from the other releases save for different, shitty artwork.
And PS....since these are the original releases, would it have really killed the powers that be to throw the original movie posters for these covers. I mean, these are "Limited Editions"?!? Do they really have to conform to the style of all the Star Wars DVD releases starting from the Phantom Menace? (I would have gone with the classic A New Hope poster like on the second box set and the second Empire movie poster with Han and Leia kissing and the siloette of Vader in the middle for Episode V).
....taking deep breath and getting off soapbox now.....

Just to throw some speculative fuel on the fire...
Think the originals will have chapter stops? Or will they treat it as bonus material and put each one on there just as one long chapter, like you would a trailer or featurette? Or if it does have chapter stops, will they just be the same ones as on the laserdisc?
I have no information on this, I just thought I'd give everyone one more thing to worry about.

Has anyone thought of the possibilty that Lucas might release the original versions with upside down, black-and-white video, with Chinese audio only (featuring only forced Portuguese subtitles)?
Yeesh, enough FUD already.

Awesome! That means the bit rate for the original version will be lower. Yippee.
