I would own a lot more HBO sets if they weren't so overpriced. But this show was so good I'll likely end up buying it and hating myself the next day.

Hey, HBO spent over $100 million producing these 12 episodes. An SRP of $100 (which means $80 or less upon release - probably less if pre-ordered) really isn't that bad when you consider all the work that went into the show and the extras bonus disc.

That show is so awesome.

it is a bit "overpriced" when you compare it to a regular network show, but the production value and quality of the show make the price worth it...

this dvd also seems to be stacked extras wise, moreso than deadwood at least (the other HBO series i buy)...

definitely picking this up

I'm sick and tired of HBOs overpricing . . . ugh. I don't have HBO so while I'd like to see this, forget it for that price. Plenty of things have 100 million dollar budgets (almost any blockbuster movie) and they don't cost 100 dollars, why do we have to make an exception for HBO?

There are a lot of factors that you have to think about before you can call it 'overpricing'. Such as television advertising revenue, the already stated production value, niche audiences, etc. etc.. Don't even go into comparing the prices of movies on dvd and HBO television on dvd.

There's also this little thing called "renting" that seems to be really popular!

Oh and btw, that packaging is awesome. And Polly Walker?

The only HBO drama I've been able to stomach the price for was "six feet under" and that was when Costco had them for $62... I doubt I'll pick this up, but it will definatley be a worthy netflix.

Great packaging.. I love the outer-case magnet things.. Angels in America had it, and it's featured on lots of R3 Korean stuff as well. I think it's very classy.

Enjoyed the show, but the pricing is unsurprisingly ridiculous. No sale.

Love the packaging, loved the first season of this series.

The pricing is in line with most of the boxsets HBO has put out up to this point.

I've purchased most of those, as I will this one.

I watched the first episode, thoroughly enjoyed it, missed a couple in between and decided that I'd just get the show on DVD....the packaging is awesome, the extras sound compelling and I have high hopes for the remaining episodes.

The price point was expected...so it'll be mine . By August, my husband will have lifted the DVD purchase ban ;-).

They should offer HBO subscribers a discount--somethine like a $20 rebate off the price of the set.
