-forbidden hollywood
-gary cooper
-marlon brando
-humphrey bogart
-film noir volume 4
-james stewart

Excites me how?

Forbidden Hollywood..... ;)

Johnny Zhivago 04-20-06 07:15 PM

Film noir...

kingtopher 04-20-06 07:17 PM

Film Noir and Gangsters. Oh, and the Bogart depending on what's on it.

Anyone know if they're planning a second set of classic comedies?

onebyone 04-20-06 07:22 PM

Bogart and Jean Harlow. God I hope they do the Harlow one.

MEJHarrison 04-20-06 07:41 PM

You forgot the Tough Guys Collection. That's the one I'm most looking forward to. From your list, I'd pick Bogart.

gryffinmaster 04-20-06 07:56 PM

If the Bogie set is basically a line-up of SEs w/ the Maltese Falcon and African Queen, then ... yeah, that one.

RevKarl 04-20-06 08:03 PM

The John Wayne-John Ford Collection, of the ones which have been announced.

Astaire & Rogers Collection: Volume 2, of those which are still rumored.

OldBoy 04-20-06 08:29 PM

won't they be doing the new "Superman" Super-Duper Set? that is the one i am salivating for...

RobCA 04-20-06 08:40 PM

The upcoming 14-disc Superman set for me too.

I think they're releasing a Bette Davis set too, but the only one I want from it is the 2-disc SE of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane...

I'm looking forward to several of the, but particularly the Gable and Ford/Wayne boxes—and the Jean Harlow set, if it comes this year.

illennium 04-20-06 09:34 PM

There's a Tennessee Williams set coming out in a couple weeks too.

astaire and rogers vol 2 hasn't been announced yet, but comes out in august

shearerchic 04-20-06 11:45 PM

this was about CLASSIC boxed sets that haven't been announced. i didn't include tennessee, tough guys, gable, etc cause we already know about those. it's for the sets that are lined up 4 the rest of the year.

the african queen is a paramount title and his wb set will include: passage to marseille, action in the north atlantic, and across the pacific.

Wick 04-21-06 12:43 AM

The James Stewart set.

Wick 04-21-06 12:45 AM

I'm quite interested in the James Stewart set.

Had no clue. Thanks.

Cinemaddiction 04-21-06 02:24 AM

There's also a Bogie & Bacall set due, including a new version of "The Big Sleep", which I am looking forward to.

It's the same version as is currently available, I'm afraid.

I'm saving my pennies for Mr Ford and Mr Wayne...

DaTimster 04-21-06 08:05 AM

Didn't WB mention that Forbidden Planet is coming in Oct and will also be part of a classic sci-fi set? I'm looking forward to a lot of these, but will be very curious about that one . . .

marty888 04-21-06 08:10 AM

WB keeps me in a constant state of arousel - of those listed in the OP, the Astaire & Rogers is probably my most anticipated.
