Anybody interested in a Stalingrad SE?

I didn't see this posted on the board, but according to thedigitalbits, Synapse Films will be releasing a Stalingrad Special Edition on 5/30.
"Stalingrad will include all three original German/Russian documentaries (The Attack, The Kessel and The Doom) in their original uncut forms, all in anamorphic widescreen video, with additional footage (in the English dubbed version), deleted interview segments and more" While not a mainstream war film, this is one of the very few that covers the Eastern Front in WWII, and I will be more than happy to retire my Fox Lorber copy.

Great stuff. You are so right, so few films about this incredible battle. My dad, R.I.P., was drafted into that battle when he was 17 and his family was trying to get the hell away form Hitler-crazed Germany. He hated Hitler and simply fought for his life (you were shot if you didn't go to the frontlines after you were drafted). He always had many stories to tell about surviving it. He had a lot of luck. I look forward to seeing those docs.

FYI, Stalingrad from Synapse isn't the FILM of the same name from Fox Lorber. It's strictly a documentary and looking like a fascinating one at that. So don't retire your copy just yet.

oops, my bad. And to think I was getting excited about retiring the crappy Fox Lorber release (and my last Fox Lorber dvd in my collection). If this documentary has any additional content that is unique to this release (i.e.. not in the World at War series), I will be buying it. Thanks for the correction. ;-)

Still, I for one am glad you brought the release of this DVD to my attention.
