tips for repairing a cracked disk?

I have hundreds of disks, but only one that I know of that has a large crack creeping from the center...I'm even afraid when I remove it from the case because the pressure from the holder might make it split and ruin it.

do you put a drop of super glue on the crack? the crack is near the center, so could the spin get thrown off from the drop of glue?

It wouldn't happen to be the collector's edition of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, would it? :D

First thing I would do is not put it on the case hub, but insdead put it in a sleeve.

The cost in time and hassle and the risk of it coming apart in your player and destroying it probably don't justify any attempt to fix it. In fact, if the hub is cracked, everytime it is played it could splinter and leave fragments in the player possibly destroying it.

Unfortunately, it is probably money better spent just buying another one.

If it's still in print....chuck it and buy another.

I've got a copy of the OOP original "Hard Day's Night" with a largely cracked hub. So this is not the news I was hoping to read here. :(

In that situation, I'd make a back-up to watch.

That's what I'd do. Better to replace a disc than a player. You might also try to contact the company and see if you can get a replacement at a reduced price. I know Disney has an excellant replacement program. I've also had good luck with a few others getting problems corrected.
