Worst DVD in your collection?

I have some that I just wish weren't there, but I don't have anything to do with them.

Probably, for me "The Scorpion King". I just look at it with dread. I might comeback later with another...

So what is the worst, god-awful release in your collection? One where the site or thought of it makes you cringe...yet, you just can't part with it.

Romeo Must Die.

SlingshotBandit 03-08-06 10:18 PM

In other people's eyes, probably Teen Witch. http://forum.signonsandiego.com/images/smilies/erm.gif

The Skulls ... but I can't help but love the campiness of it. ;) Major guilty pleasure.

Johnny Boy 03-08-06 10:25 PM

Batman Begins. It's my least favorite movie I own. I blind-bought it based on my brother's recommendation. Then I remembered my brother his mediocre taste in movies. Haven't gotten around to selling it to a kid with down syndrome yet.

dvd_luver 03-08-06 10:25 PM

A dvd somebody got me from Walgreens for $1.

Willh51 03-08-06 10:33 PM

Maybe Batman and Robin, but the dvd isn't the part that's bad.

The Godfather Collection

Hmmm my original Full Screen R2 version of Glengarry Glenross

Closely followed by Hollywood Homicide...what was I thinking? One funny scene doesn't make a movie...hurrumph

For me it's a couple free promos I got with my first DVD player...namely Lost in Space...I've had it for almost 8 years and still can't bring myself to watch it.

DarthVong 03-08-06 10:43 PM

Adventures of Ford Fairlane

..says a guy who owns fucking "Pootie Tang". -ptth-

I dunnooooooooooo...guess I'd say "The Gate". It's a childhood favorite, and a filler until I can get the R2.

Spiral Staircase 03-08-06 11:46 PM

Highlander

woemcats 03-09-06 12:12 AM

Ninja Turtles III. I got it because I like the first two OK (movies of my youth), and had to have them all, even though I didn't even like III when I saw it in the theater.

TheMovieman 03-09-06 12:20 AM

Batman & Robin, Coyote Ugly, Disturbing Behavior (first DVD I remember ever buying), Wrong Turn

darkshadowdog 03-09-06 12:25 AM

My complete collection of all four "Shaft" movies isen't exactly what i'd call cinematic genius.

antennaball 03-09-06 12:28 AM

Either Ghost Dad or Circle of Friends

Cosmic Bus 03-09-06 12:35 AM

Either 2010 or Vampires. I've thought about dumping both at one time or another, but 2010 is virutally worthless at this point, and I have a pretty big soft spot for Carpenter's stuff -- though not big enough to still own Ghosts of Mars...

Mr. 3000...I can't even explain it as it makes me sick to my stomach!

AnonomusBob15 03-09-06 12:52 AM

Probably Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. I just didn't like it, and someone gave it to me. It is too scratched to sell.

Fok 03-09-06 01:22 AM

Scarface

Maxflier 03-09-06 01:26 AM

Species
I would trade it in or something, but i know it can't be worth jack shit.

bballing 03-09-06 01:27 AM

Better Off Dead.

Crash and burn, Mav.

Harlequin released by Prism here in r2. It's a great film but the DVD is utterly dire; the opening titles are in widescreen everything switches to pan-and-scan for the main feature, then widescreen again for the closing titles! It also uses the worst print I have ever seen used for a DVD - frame after frame of massive print damage - and a dreadful transfer looking like a fifth generation VHS copy.

Fortunately, the r1 disc under the title Dark Forces is excellent quality anamorphic widescreen. As was the showing we got on the BBC not long ago.

I thought that the DVD's released here by Vipco were bad enough (their release of Asylum lead me to think that the film was made to look foggy in every scene til I saw the Anchor Bay edition), but the one above takes the biscuit.
