For the movie, Batman & Robin. But if we're talking about DVD, then it's gotta be Madacy's Metropolis.

Its a tough call because we have some crap that either I like for some reason or my wife likes, but I have to go with Showgirls. Awful film, cool shot glasses.

PixyJunket 03-09-06 06:38 AM

Donnie Darko

Smithers 03-09-06 06:38 AM

Hellboy

It was a blind buy, I hated this so much.

marcellusk 03-09-06 06:52 AM

Lost in space and disturbing behavior. One of the first dvds i bought so I'm only holding on to them for that reason

FantasticVSDoom 03-09-06 06:55 AM

In terms of worst movie would have to be Batman and Robin, and even that has some entertainment value...In terms of dvd quality, it would be Twilight Samurai. Love the movie but the dvd is pretty much barebones and non-anamorphic, with 2.0 sound.

kms_md 03-09-06 07:46 AM

gigli

Nesbit 03-09-06 07:49 AM

Vulgar

Probably, for me "The Scorpion King". I just look at it with dread. I might comeback later with another...

So what is the worst, god-awful release in your collection? One where the site or thought of it makes you cringe...yet, you just can't part with it.

Mr. Magoo.

I saw it years ago, so I decided to buy it.

It was so horrible. I haven't even watched it all. I refuse. I got though 30 minutes and couldn't take anymore.

Harold Wazzu 03-09-06 07:59 AM

Probably Bounce or Hearts in Atlantis

I believe that some of you are accidentally responding to the imaginary thread "Name a DVD that you know is actually pretty good and that a lot of people like but you want to act like it sucks so that you get some attention".

I bought The Neverending Story III at Bestbuy for $17.99. That is one of my worst purchases ever. I have some other crappy movies like Gigli and House of the Dead, but I picked them up used for around $5.00 each so to me thats about the cost of a rental.

Mine is Bikini Bandits Save Christmas. They took a perfect concept - girls in bikinis with guns - and turned into an unfunny, unsexy long-form Flash animation that is rather dreadful.

The one disc in my collection that pisses me off every time I see it is A.I., because I bought the foolscreen by mistake... I've never seen the movie in widescreen, isn't that sad? I think it's 2.xx : 1 too, so I'm sure I missed a bunch.

Foolscreen. -rolleyes- -ohbfrank-

Usually I don't have a problem getting rid of DVDs if I don't like them. In fact I'm too the point where I purposefully go through the collection regularly and rewatch some old ones to decide whether or not I want to keep them. Those that I don't I give to a library and take the tax/donation write off :D (much easier than trying to sell them IMHO). There is one though that I don't know how/can't get rid of that way since it's R2 though.... a UK series called Soldier Soldier. It was recommended by some people around here but it just didn't do anything for me.

I can remember the only DVD I bought that was so bad I actually did use it as a drinks coaster, and that was Hardware Wars.

But in truth there are quite a few in my collection that I regret buying, ones that were either bought on impulse, or in those weak "It cannot really be as bad as they say, can it?" moments, or ones that I have bought before reading anything about.

Ones I could name would be Stealth, Blade 3, Ballistic - Ecks Vs Sever...probably a few more that I cannot recall at the mo.

Jaymole 03-09-06 09:16 AM

Mission to Mars
Red Planet
Lost in Space

I'm a sucker for sci-fi

GF looks like shit on dvd.....and SF has one of the worst layer changes I've ever seen. Both need serious upgrading and SF, btw, looks awesome in HD!! Please, bring on the HD discs!
