Is Kino's Borsalino & Co. Cut?

I'm not very sure about it, but I feel something missing specially in the action scenes, particularly at the end. I also see in some sites that the R2 French edition is 104 minutes (PAL!), while this R1 is only 101 minutes.

Anyone can verify this? If it is cut, what's missing then?

Kino's release is an exact port of the Pathe French release. It is also a poorly mastered DVD that shows off all of the dreadful effects that plague an improper PAL-NTSC transfer: heavy "ghosting", visible color-banding, etc.

And, no, the Kino version is not cut!!

But how come the time difference if it's not cut? Or the French release is not exactly 104 min?

The French disc runs 102 min:

edit: Just looked up a few other French sites...total mess, everyone is listing running times ranging from 101-104 min. I still stand behind my claim though...nothing is cut and the Kino version is exactly the same as the Pathe cut, in fact they even ported the entire trailer gallery that can be found on each of their Delon discs (titled the Alen Delon collection) since the French disc(s) offered both the French, and where available English-dubbed, trailers.

If PAL speedup, then the PAL version that's shorter, not the NTSC... so this is not the case

What I was trying to point to you is that you are drawing conclusions based on the running times provided by different sites...and they are anything but solid. My commment (above) about the status of the disc remains the same!

I see, thanks pro. So indeed, the sites mentioned wrong running time of the French PAL disc.

Therefore, in case Kino's Borsalino & Co DVD is cut, this means French DVD is cut, too. imdb lists longer running time, but imdb can be (and often) wrong too.
