Match Point --> April 25th
Woody Allen's brilliant new film comes to DVD on April 25th....as usual, just the confirmed date for now...
I'm looking forward to this. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

One of my favorites of the year.
One of my favorites as well.

Like most (if not all) Woody Allen DVD releases, this will probably be as bare bones as they come - theatrical trailer and that's it.
Terrific movie, looking forward to seeing it again. |
Great movie, love woody
Awesome, and right before finals week, will be perfect when I need study breaks. Hopefully for once they throw some real extras into one of his releases.
Yet another movie from last year that I've been really wanting to see but haven't got around to it. I love Woody Allen, so I'll probably give this a blind buy.

From dvdactive.com:
Title: Match Point Starring: Scarlett Johansson Released: 25th April 2006 SRP: $29.99 Further Details: Universal Home Video has today announced the Woody Allen directed Match Point which stars the likes of Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Emily Mortimer and Brian Cox. The film tells the story of a man being torn apart by his desire for two very different women. Marrying Chloe (Emily Mortimer) will bring him a life of wealth and success, but his true passion lies with his brother-in-law's fiancee, the stunningly sensuous but ever unpredictable Nola (Scarlett Johansson). The film itself will be presented in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 2.0 Mono track. Extra material has yet to be confirmed. You'll be able to own this one from the 25th April, priced at around $29.99. Stay tuned for art. |
Looking forward to this release.

I had several chances to see this, but never did. Will definitely be checking this out. However, the only thing I don't like about Allen releases is he still uses mono sound.
Well this one will go on the "to be purchased" list for this year...As I get back on budget.

His new movies are basically the only ones that are released in mono only. Even talky dramas get a 5.1 mix.
Haven't seen it, but will definitely be checking out the DVD.
I'll be picking this up on release day. Great movie.
Definitely will pick this up, one of my top 5 of 2005... I can somewhat understand Allen not putting special features on there (maybe he just doesn't like that stuff), but how 'bout DD5.1?
Well, since theatrically the movie was presented in MONO, they didn't ever create a dd5.1 mix. I loved this flick, and any Allen fan shouldn't be let down. Definitely picking this one up.
