Match Point --> April 25th

Woody Allen's brilliant new film comes to DVD on April 25th....as usual, just the confirmed date for now...

EdTheRipper 02-26-06 08:21 PM

I'm looking forward to this. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

One of my favorites of the year.

Like most (if not all) Woody Allen DVD releases, this will probably be as bare bones as they come - theatrical trailer and that's it.

Terrific movie, looking forward to seeing it again.

Sathlin 02-26-06 10:16 PM

Great movie, love woody

fliggil 02-26-06 10:19 PM

Awesome, and right before finals week, will be perfect when I need study breaks. Hopefully for once they throw some real extras into one of his releases.

Yet another movie from last year that I've been really wanting to see but haven't got around to it. I love Woody Allen, so I'll probably give this a blind buy.

Looking forward to this release.

Mr. Cinema 02-27-06 06:11 AM

I had several chances to see this, but never did. Will definitely be checking this out. However, the only thing I don't like about Allen releases is he still uses mono sound.

FantasticVSDoom 02-27-06 07:14 AM

Well this one will go on the "to be purchased" list for this year...As I get back on budget.

Yeah, but his movies aren't exactly audio demo material. Although Match Point does have one particular scene that could've done with a little LFE action.

Mr. Cinema 02-27-06 08:30 AM

His new movies are basically the only ones that are released in mono only. Even talky dramas get a 5.1 mix.

Geofferson 02-27-06 08:38 AM

Haven't seen it, but will definitely be checking out the DVD.

Numanoid 02-27-06 09:33 AM

I'll be picking this up on release day. Great movie.

TheMovieman 02-27-06 09:39 AM

Definitely will pick this up, one of my top 5 of 2005... I can somewhat understand Allen not putting special features on there (maybe he just doesn't like that stuff), but how 'bout DD5.1?

mdc3000 02-27-06 10:09 AM

Well, since theatrically the movie was presented in MONO, they didn't ever create a dd5.1 mix. I loved this flick, and any Allen fan shouldn't be let down. Definitely picking this one up.

Funny, but I didn't even notice the mono sound in the theater, and I bet you wouldn't at home either unless you knew about it ahead of time. People get worked up over the littlest things.

steebo777 02-28-06 06:18 PM

Heard nothing but good reviews on this one. I am on it.

I noticed the mono sound in the theater, but only because I knew that's how Wood-yi shot his movies and was on the lookout for it.

asianxcore 03-02-06 07:07 PM

awesome. will definitely be picking this one up.
